"This is a very special Emu Ultra which has been upgraded with a internal compact flash slot (SCSI) which means you can 'hot-swap' compact flash cards to get your data into the Emu, fast. Also it has an internal IDE drive 80gb loaded with the entire Emu library. The Serial No. dates this to March 2001 so it was one of the last Emu samplers made...production probably stopped around 2002 when they had a close out on Emu samplers and parts.

This is the 2nd Emu sampler i have for sale and I purchased this a 3 years ago for the RFX32 card. I discovered the unit was barely used and this is proven by the buttons which have no rubbing/smoothing and are appear immaculate - they remain textured. I have not used the sampler all these years but have recently upgraded all my samplers with Scsi CF as I came across the necessary parts.
improve airflow.
All buttons work and there is no skipping with the controller dial.

To give you an idea of the costings for SCSI CF flash: to upgade to a SCSI CF flash drive will cost you are around £150. £70 for the SCSI/IDE converter and then another £40 for the flash slot itself. The SCSI/IDE converters are extremely rare and not easily found.

128mb Ram - again this is rare.

This EMU is running the last and latest version of EOS, which gives you realtime resonance on the filter instead of 'note-on' changes.

I will also include the EMu sound library on the hard drive plus lots and lots of samples. You will have to seek clearance if any of these samples find there way into a commerical release.

If you want to pick up one of these units to bring something new to your production - the Emu Filters - then this is the best way to do it."

Building a Simple Sampler in Reaktor

Building a Simple Sampler in Reaktor from Peter Dines on Vimeo.

"In this video I walk you through creating a simple multipurpose sampler in Reaktor. I introduce you to basic Reaktor concepts like control and audio signal flow, polyphony, sample import and mapping, signal modulation with an envelope and adding factory effects. This is an introductory level video but it covers a lot of important territory you need to know to build more advanced structures.

Look forward to more videos from me - the next one will be on creating a sequenced beat production center from scratch.

Arp Odyssey MKII 2813 with Lumina LED Slider Upgrade

"List of things I've had done to this machine:

- recapped power supply, new grounded power chord added
- complete overhaul of key bed (replaced j-wires, bushings, burnished bus bar)
- lit pot mod, replacement of all front panel switches and sliders (no more gunky, unresponsive parameters)
- high output and low output jacks switched so that high output is the 1/4" jack (most sensible for modern applications)
- cleaning out of conductive solder flux
- fully calibrated and tuned up

All of these things were done by a VERY experienced tech, who was trained by ARP in the seventies to be a certified technician. This work is of the highest caliber, and I paid an arm and a leg for it. Moreover, I have never had a single problem with this machine after having it serviced. The switches and sliders being brand new makes such an enormous difference in the practical application of this synth into your workflow. Get the best of both worlds: vintage feel with modern dependability.

While having this work done, I ran out of money before the tech could run through the CV section. I was told it looked fine, and ought to work, but it was NOT tested. Being that I do not use CV in my studio for anything, I have no way to test this feature of the machine and cannot guarantee its function. I realize this function is important to other kinds of musicians, and in the event that something is wrong with the CV section of this Odyssey, a repair ought not to be prohibitively expensive. Please bid accordingly, though."
