MacBeth Oscillator 'B' Demo 1

"There has been quite an interest in the 5U format MacBeth Mk1 Oscillator 'B' Module- so I did this quick demonstration! Oscillator 'B' features Sawtooth output, 2 Pulse Width/Square outputs and 2 sub Octaves, one below the other. On this demo- I have 2 Function Generators(tese are like laboritory LFOS) at Triangle Waveforms modulating both Pulse widths on the Osc'B'- the go into 2 Mixer 'A' (one for left, the other for right) and the mixers are pushed to full on- implying a mild distortion. The Sub Octave are going left and right as well- this also goes into 2 Mk1 Filter 'A' modules and there are 2 Mk1 Dual EGs at play here! Considering this is effectively just one oscillator playing- I reckon that Ocillator 'B' is a bit of a beast!"

"patch exploring micro percussion possibilites of the steady state fate propagate module.

micro beats - achieved by running four separate clock signals into the SSF propagate (chaos computer binary outs x2 clocked by the 4MS SCM and 2 channels of the 4MS PEG clocked by the SCM and divided) . Propagate delay and space times were adjusted then the SUM output fed into a vca. one sound source (cyclebox) was used for all of the micro percussion. the vca out then went into the tiptop z-dsp with dragonfly delay card. the program changes are happening by way of wogglebug stepped output to the program change in on the z-dsp. additional modulation of the parameters of the z-dsp are coming from the synth tech e355.

kick drum - hertz donut mark 2 through the make noise optomix with a bit of an openess on the control att to create the sustained drone.

hi hat like thing - SSF quantum rainbow purple noise out into the SSF PTG with additional level adjustment by the SSF ground control. this is then fed into the grendel formant filter then the mungo d0 for timbre variance. clock source for this is the pamelas workout into the PTG which is being clocked by the 4MS SCM.

reversed maths bouncing ball - one channel of maths being clocked again by the 4ms SCM with the fall time modulated by the synth tech e355. sound source here is braids being FMed by a dixie.

main clock source for the patch was an intellijel dixie.

"Great cosmetic and perfect working condition this oberheim ob-xa synth has been professionally fitted with a real world interfaces midi interface which handles midi in and out, channel and splitmode data. Channels selected by the keyboard keys. The synth is a kult analogue polysynth with 8 voices and 16 oscillators.

Its a very powerful instrument sonically and with midi control its possible to use it as a midi controller keyboard as well as a 2 part analog sound module and it's a late model with patch memory of 120 programs or patches.

You can use double mode to double the patches and create very complex waveforms. Its a super musical synth with autotune function to keep it in tune. This synth has just been carefully restored with the keyboard completely overhauled new key bushings and lubricant. The keys realigned and j-wire triggers adjusted carefully for use as an accurate midi controller. with the RWI midi upgrade one button and switch have been added to the front panel to turn midi on and off and select modes, channels & functions as a panic button. Wood ends have some scratches but look good. Front panel some light scuffs and scratches but nothing that detracts significantly from the impressive machine..."
