"Up for sale is a fully working, fully upgraded Rhodes Chroma, without doubt one of the best polyphonic analog synths ever made. This is a fantastic sounding synth that has huge flexibility in terms of voice and filter configurations. It can be used as an 8-voice synth with two oscillators per voice, or with 16 single oscillator voices. The 16 filters (one for each oscillator) can also be arranged in serial or parallel configurations, in either high or low-pass modes. An analog ring-modular, sync and FM are also available. I've owned a Matrix-12 and the Andromeda, and this just blows those out of the water in terms of pure sound quality, plain and simple. The sound is best described as 3-D and organic which is the result of discrete rather than chip-based oscillators.

Better yet, this is one of THE best supported vintage polysynths out there. There's a huge user community and loads of newly developed options and this particular model includes all of them, including:

-CC+ (a new CPU that adds midi control over every parameter)

-Upgraded, new power supply (the old one is usually the source of failures on these)

-Polyphonic aftertouch: this allows you to control aftertouch per KEY, like on the CS-80, rather than across the whole keyboard as is the norm on most synths with aftertouch.

Functionally, this is virtually flawless: autotune works every time and the synth tunes up very quickly after a brief warm-up. (It actually turns on and is basically ready to play, but I have to put in the caveat that it needs to warm up since studio temperatures can always change). Also, ALL of the voice cards have just had their capacitors replaced, and the output EQ board has also just been serviced by one of the master synth techs out there, John Leimseider. All keys trigger reliably, but it is worth noting that several will not trigger if played very lightly and until you have applied full [pressure. This is not due to dirty contacts, but the nature/spacing of the metal contacts internally. I believe this can be adjusted, but I was not prepared to attempt this. If playing normally, this shouldn't be noticed..."

"The Model 210e Control and Signal Router directs the routing of up to eight control voltages and eight audio signals. The two sections function independently.

Originally conceived of as an aid to store and retrieve patch routings, the 210e evolved into a module with some additional capabilities.

In the control voltage section, each of five outputs can be connected to any one of eight inputs. (This is the functional replacement for a bunch of patchcords.) If more than one input is routed to a single output, the result is averaged.

Similarly, the signal routing section allows connection of each of five outputs to any one of eight inputs (patchcord emulation). Additionally, this section provides the possibility for matrix mixing, in which an output can respond to multiple inputs, with each connection independently scalable.

All 210e settings can be stored and retrieved under the direction of the model 225e or 206e preset manager, thus enabling the re-routing of signals for each preset..."

BUCHLA 259e TWISTED WAVEFORM GENERATOR

"Popular demand does work occasionally - we’ve resurrected and renamed the original 259e Complex Waveform Generator. The new 259e is practically identical to the original, and is replete with all of the original digital waveshaping, aliasing noise, and foldover frequencies. However, we’ve added new self-modifying, screeching, snarling responses that reflect weird internal origins. Hence the name “twisted”.

Otherwise similar to the 261e Complex Waveform Generator, with voltage-controlled modulation of pitch, amplitude, and timbre, both hard and soft synchronization, and pitch tracking.

In conjunction with the model 225e MIDI Manager, the 259e's pitches respond to internally routed MIDI messages. Up to four 259's can peacefully co-exist in a single system, each with its private MIDI channel.

As in all 200e series modules, the settings of the 259e's pots and switches can be memorized as a part of a preset configuration. Provided you have a 225e or a 206e in your system..."

*4 banks with 118 memory locations each
*MIDI in/out and 4xCV/Gate outs
*programmable velocity, gate-time and 2xCV outs
*15 shuffle settings
*16 song memory locations each with up to 128 sequences

"The MFB-Step64 is a step-sequencer with up to 64 monophonic steps or 16 4-voice polyphonic steps.

In monophonic mode it is possible to enter 16 steps with five parameters each, 32 steps with 3 parameters each oder 64 note on/off steps. Additional parameters can be velocity, gate-time (1/6 to 6/6) or 2 control voltages for additional control (e.g. filter cutoff). The CV can be changed per step. You may also use the MFB-Step64 for 2 monophonic sequences with 3 parameters, for 4 monophonic sequences or as a 4-voice polyphonic note on/off sequencer.

Each mode has 118 separate memory locations. You may include pause into a sequence as well as legato notes by pressing two or more notes next to each other.

On mode 4 (4-voice, polyphonic) you can easy create chords (e.g. major, minor).

Each sequence can use one of 15 shuffle settings to give it more liveliness.

The song mode finally allows you to create a structure out of the existing sequences with up to 128 steps. Transposition of the sequence is directly possible by the sequence buttons or an via MIDI."

Sherman Filterbank 2 Rack Filter Effects

via this auction

"The Sherman Filterbank 2 is a classic, powerful, analog filter with a huge frequency range and killer overdrive. It is great for both live and studio use.

What you get

Independent low pass, band pass and high pass filters with resonance, frequency and ADSR (positive - negative) controls
These are switchable between parallel or serial
The second filter has a 6 octave switch, and is synchronizable with the first filter
1 ADSR generator for these filters with an external output for use with more filterbanks or modular systems, triggered by the incoming signal, by a second sounds source, or by a gate
1 FM input for the filters, internal or external audio, LFO or CV
1 VCA overdrive with AR generator also
1 ring modulator input, internal or external audio, LFO or CV
So whats new with the Sherman Filterbank 2?

There are 5 extra switches and 2 extra LEDs, and on the back panel there's one pedal input jack. A reworked front-panel lay-out and the grey metal color.

The pedal input allows foot control of freq1and bypass/effect switching. You can rewire an old wah (because they have a switch on board) as shown by te diagram in ‘extra stuff’.
A 5mm big green LED indicates "Effect on" on the FB 2
A 3-way switch on the input stage allows Hi boost as well Hi cut (both boosting high frequencies at input)
Another 3-way switch allows "Sensitrig" (which makes the triggering twice as sensitive for, e.g. clean string pad filtering) and "Limit", which leaves the filters more "breathing room" for self-oscillation if the input stage is extremely overdriven.
A 3-way switch has 2 general transpose functions : +1 Octave and + Quint which works nice with monophonic signals, and has a specific dirty character.
A 3-way switch for the really powerful and quite revolutionary "Tracking" function - a monophonic pitch follower, that tunes filter 2 to the incoming pitch, and makes filter 1 slave of filter 2 via the harmonics switch. E.g. in position 2, filter 1 will be pitched one octave higher than filter 2, but still following the pitch. This extra switch activates the "tracking" in a normal or deep "track low" position, with stunning basses as result.
The "revolutionary" aspect of this function is that never before any similar system enhances "on the spot" harmonics and creates new harmonics with fat analog circuits.
An extra white LED indicates when the tracking system is "locked on".
At last there is an 3-way function switch in the LFO section, allowing sawtooth wave shape OR AR retrig : this forces an LFO restart from the AR trig with pumping grooves as unavoidable result. If you want to receive a new brochure, please ask your dealer first.
The Sherman Filterbank is now also midi controlable via Kenton Control Freaks (a small portable hardware console, including sliders)

All the finger-tip MIDI control you need, instantly to hand. Forget your mixer maps and do it all in real-time. An ideal solution for the gigging musician, or the musician who likes to save time & settings. The Kenton Control Freaks are made in the U.K., by Kenton, and are preprogrammed with profiles for the Sherman Filterbank as well. Hundreds of additional profiles are available for download FREE from the Kenton website."
