Each channel has an oscillator that can produce different basic waveforms which can be shaped with its own simple envelope generator. Oscillator pitch can be swept with the SWEEP control either positively (i.e. start high and drop in pitch -) or negatively (the pitch rises through the sweep). However, each channel also has an LFO with variable speed and depth and a choice of square and sawtooth waveforms. There's also a noise generator and a sample/hold function and so, with some adventurous programming, a very wide range of sounds is possible. it also come with the original case!"

Hordijk Modular studio jam

Published on Oct 24, 2013 casperelectronics synthesizers·80 videos

"A little demo of my new live performance rig. Not a great quality recording but good enough to give an idea of what I'm working with.
In the back is a Hordijk brand modular synth. In the front is my analog sound and light synth. Also based on Rob Hordijks Benjolin circuit with lots and lots of tweaks.
Next to that is an Electro Harmonix Memory Man with a few tweaks + external clock tap tempo control.

The Modular has 4 modules (from left to right)
-Triple VC-LFO with added fine tune on the full range sine wave VCO.
-Rungler Module. Dual VCO with shift register based feedback sequence/noise generator. + added fine tune knobs for both VCOs
-Dual mixer/cross-fader/pre-amp. This is my own design. nothing special. just a few opamps.
-24db multi mode VCF.

The Sound/Light synth is made up of:
- 2 Benjolin circuits (each made of 2 VCOs, 1 VCF and 1 chaos sequencer)
-Fine control of all oscillators including tuning for SETS of oscillators.
- 4 channel audio mixer
- 2 pre-amps
- Extra attenuable CV control and clock inputs for everything.
- 4 banana to 1/4" converters
- Transistor based high power LED controller. Allows me to convert signals from within the synth into an intense tri color light display."

Instruments & Effects Coming to Genome MIDI Sequencer for iOS

via White Noise Audio

"Built in Audio Modules – These are instruments and effects built into Genome that you can use to make full songs within Genome. This requires a little more detail:

New track-based audio ‘Racks’ where you can add synthesizers, samplers and effects and hook them up however you like.
Instrument modules include analog synths, drum machines and samplers. The drum machine includes some of the core parts of bleep!BOX.
Effects include distortion, chorus, phaser etc.
The sampler module uses the open SFZ sample format. It does not support 100% of the opcodes that SFZ includes, but the hope is that it can be expanded over time. I am also open sourcing the SFZ player module in the hopes that other developers can contribute code and to help promote the SFZ format. The code for this is located on Github.
You can save presets for each instrument and effect
Knob motions can be automated and recorded into your patterns using CC messages.
Genome’s internal instruments can be played using external MIDI input (ex. a keyboard or other apps)
Audio output can be recorded to .WAV

I know some people will be unhappy about Genome’s expansion from being purely a MIDI sequencer to becoming a DAW. Rest assured that nothing is changing with the existing MIDI workflow and I will continue to add new features to the MIDI editor over time."

Additional updates are planned as well.  You can find the full list at White Noise Audio here.

Pittsburgh Modular Phase Shifter

Published on Oct 24, 2013 Pittsburgh Modular Synthesizers·13 videos

"The Pittsburgh Modular Phase Shifter is a complex, 16 stage, analog effect module designed to expand on the classic swirls, rich swooshes, and doppler effects associated with the phaser.

The Phase Shifter module uses 16 stages to create a very rich, full sound. The module splits the 16 stages into 2 separate chains of 8 for greater flexibility and to allow for extremely deep modulation options. Resonance can be positive or negative and the module will self oscillate at extreme settings."

Elka controls and random doodling

"Just a quick video showing some of the controls of the Elka solist for Kontakt 5.
I'm just randomly doodling on the keyboard making random sounds 'on the fly' just to give a taste of some of the sounds that can be made."

"Using the Gravity Well to warp Pitch CV into VCO. I am only moving a few of the knobs, to make the effects more apparent."

The static sigh: Spectralis 2 Sample library V2 demo

Published on Oct 23, 2013 acemonvw·69 videos

"A quick, simple piece I put together using the Spectralis 2 Sample Library V2 from Radikal Technologies. I routed the bass sample through the LP and MM analog filters and used noise for some extra parts, otherwise... this was completely done using only the sample library."
