Loko Attack - Main Theme (What a Feeling cover) - Commodore 64 SID Chip in HD

Published on Jul 22, 2014 MrCaliforniaD

"Flashdance - What a Feeling - Chiptune cover.

Played on a real Commodore 64 with 6581 SID chip.

Sorry for the short sound effects. The game starts from it's own. I killed my locomotive as fast as I could :)"

New BugBrand CrossOver Filter Released

You might remember the audio demos here. The filter is now available.

"The new CrossOver Filter contains a pair of Resonant State-Variable Filters with Voltage Control - the design springs from the old PRC3A SV-Filter design in the Modular line, but takes it all a lot further to make an extremely versatile studio tool.

The filters, run either in series or parallel, split the signal into three frequency-bands which can either be taken out to different destinations (think multi-band compression, extreme stereo-spatialisation, etc.) or re-mixed internally via the normalising output jacks.

Duet for Synthesizer and The Singing Ringing Tree

Published on Jul 21, 2014 John Keston

"This is the first from dozens of takes during a five day recording session and performance series at the Singing Ringing Tree (SRT) in Burnley, UK, a wind activated musical panopticon in Northern England. The sculpture was designed by architects Tonkin Liu and completed in December 2006. I performed accompaniment for the SRT binaural recordings simultaneously using a Novation Bass Station II connected to a USB battery. I also ran the Bass Station II through a Moog Minifooger Delay.

NOTE: This is a binaural recording combined with a monophonic synthesizer track. Although it sounds great through speakers, circumaural headphones must be used to experience the binaural effect."

Roland Jupiter 8 with Encore MIDI SN 171654

"Roland’s ultimate polyphonic flagship from 1981, never bested! I purchased the unit (s/n 171654) in 1995 with the Encore MIDI already installed. A key feature of the Encore is arpeggiator sync via MIDI. It was a mainstay of our private smoke-free studio, and it’s the only Jupiter-8 I know of that has not needed any servicing for the past 19 years. It spent last week at The Analog Lab anyway, where the following spruce-ups were performed: The front panel was dropped and all controls were cleaned. The white modulation switch was refurbished with new contact material (it goes bad after a number of years). The keyboard was removed, all contacts cleaned and reinstalled. A full calibration was performed and all functions checked. Finally, the factory patches were re-loaded."
