Side note: this is the third person I've come across that was at the shop back in the 1970s. I actually used to walk by the shop when I was just a little kid. I had no idea of the magic and history being created there.

Update: for those curious, the shop was on the third floor here off of Santa Monica Blvd. & Western Ave.

Update3 via Kevin Braheny Fortune in the Facebook thread linked above: "I'm not positive this is the one, but I built a custom programmer as per Serge's design for Pete Robinson that had small edge card plug-ins that had a series of dip switches on them to control SEMs. SEMs with a bunch of custom analog synths in a big panel that I also built that utilized an early Armand Pascetta multi-voice keyboard." According to Kevin, this might have been around 1977.

The buttons are all very smooth, controls for tempo and volume are easy to turn. Controller for Pattern Group and Mode snap clean. Controller for the six frequencies controls easy going

The battery compartment as seen in the picture is super clean."

T-t-talk to me - An Echophon, Planar and Ribbonz demo

"I just got the Make Noise Echophon and decided to give it a go. This is the result of my first patch. Thought I'd make a video of my experience :)

Here's a basic breakdown: The Flame Talking Synth is going into the Echophon input. I took the aux out of the Echophon into the FoH Sound of Shadows and fed both Echophon and SOS outputs into the Fontronik MH01. There's a lot of modulation going on. The Talking Synth has all of its parameters controlled by the Monde Ribbonz (the ribbon controller at the bottom that you've never seen before) and the Echophon has most of it's parameters controlled by the Intellijel Planar joystick and the ZBK (the big knob in the middle!).

The video was then processed with the LZX Industries video synth.
