Low-Gain Electronics Submix eurorack module

Published on Aug 22, 2014 bigcitymusic

"The Low-Gain Electronics Submix is a great utility mixer module for subgrouping signals to use in performance, mixing and feedback applications.

Here we’ve routed multiple waveforms from the Cwejman D-LFO and VCO-6 (and through the Cwejman MMF-6 and MMF-2) into sub mixes A and B, which are then feeding back into the ‘Sync’ input of VCO-6.

The Pittsburgh Sequencer, 4ms Quad Clock Distributor and Cwejman CTG-VC have been routed into sub mixes C & D and are controlling the envelopes and rate of sequencing (played by the Critter and Guitari Melody Mill via recorded pattern)."

"The keyboard has been professionally cut down to 2 octaves to convert the synthesizer into a compact bass unit. The internal circuitry is in visually very good order, while all knobs, buttons, sliders, switches and jacks are original and in good condition. The console sliders and switches have also been recently refurbished to provide smooth, noise-free operation."

EMW PATCH SYNTHESIZERS for the KORG DW-8000, Roland Alpha Juno & JX-8P

Some of you might remember the EMW Patch Synthesizer JX-810P posted back in 2011. There are also EMW PATCH SYNTHESIZERS for the KORG DW-8000, Roland Alpha Juno, Yamaha TX-81Z & DX11, and the Casio CZ series.

"What is the EMW Patch Synthesizer?

The EMW Patch Synthesizer is an intelligent patch creator. It operates on a certain degree of randomness but it is not just a simple patch randomizer like the ones that can be found on patch editors. Its internal software uses an intelligent algorithm to maximize the usability of the generated sounds.

Why use it? Or why use it instead of a Patch Editor?

The Patch Synthesizer does not exclude the use of a patch editor, they can be used together to extend the sound creation possibilities. One thing that is usual when creating a patch is that we humans have our preferences and always tend to use the same parameters, envelope settings and modulations, this is not bad but limits the creative process in a significant way.
Think about the EMW Patch Synthesizer as a new point of view generator, another opinion in sound creation or a friend that can throw some light and new perspectives. Its really like not to be alone in the process anymore.

For which synthesizers is it available?

We now have the Patch Synthesizer for the following synthesizer models:

- Roland Alpha Juno 1, Alpha Juno 2 and MKS-50
- Roland JX-8P and MKS-70
- Korg DW8000 and EX8000
- Casio CZ101, CZ1000, CZ3000, CZ5000 and CZ1
- Yamaha TX-81Z and DX11"

"Unlike the SP1200, the SP12 keeps it's samples when you turn it off.

Works like it was brand new.

It has a glorious 5 seconds of sampling time.. Never in your life did you read 0.2 seconds sampling time remaining and think 'awesome! I could record in a snare with that'"

"Although in full working order, many of the knobs have started falling apart to varying degrees from very slight to total, however with absolutely no effect to the pots or machine itself (see photos). For this reason, I have already decreased my asking price (have seen elsewhere priced at over $2000), and the knobs (pot fittings) are common and cheap to replace."

This is the second one with chewed up knobs.  Curious if this is the inevitable fate for all silo style knobs.
