Live cover - Yesterday When I Was Mad, Pet Shop Boys, Jam & Spoon

Published on Apr 27, 2015 Tony Horgan

"Based on the Jam & Spoon remix of Yesterday When I Was Mad, this is played live on hardware alone (no computer), all in one go. Featuring a Novation MiniNova Vocoder, Arturia MicroBrute, Roland AIRA TR-8, Cyclone Analogic TT-303 Bass Bot (x2), Korg Volca Keys, mixed and recorded on a Tascam DP24. Massive respect to PSB and Jam & Spoon for creating the original."

"Pick up the phone" - on Böhm Station One

Published on Apr 27, 2015 organfairy

"It has been a while since I used this workstation - basically because I moved a couple of years ago and it was not on top of my priority list to connect up - but I thought it could be fun to get it running again now.

Unfortunately it started to smell.
So I had to dig into it and find the reason.

The music is played on the Böhm and is 'Pick up the phone' which was a hit for French singer F.R.David in 1982."

Synthrotek MST Dual Envelope Eurorack modular Demo

"The MST Dual Envelope is a simple-to-use yet complex dual envelope generator. Channels 1 and 2 are both normalled to each other to cycle when the other respective channel hits end of cycle, allowing for really interesting ping-pong effects. Each channel also has an end-of-cycle trigger output with LED indicator. There’s a normal and inverted envelope out. The inverted envelope out can be further modified by the +5 offset switch, which allows the inverted waveform to travel in the positive. The + output level allows the envelope signal to go between zero and the maximum voltage rail. Attenuate the output level down for a more subtle envelope (adjust to taste).

Features:
Two self-completing envelope circuits
AD or ASR selector switch per channel
Manual Attack control & Decay/Release
Output level per channel
Gate input
End-of-cycle trigger output with LED indicator
Normal & Inverted envelope output per channel
Short and long envelope length switch per channel
Long setting can be lengthened with jumper select
AD/ASR selection switch per channel
Inverted output +5 offset switch per channel

Specifications:
Current draw: V+ max 10mA, V- max 8mA
Width: 12HP"

via the listing: "This synthesizer has been in my family for over 30 years. Unit is in great working order. I was told it belonged Ray Charles prior to our ownership, although I do not see a serial number on the unit and did not want to open the unit to check internally, nor have I found any info that Ray Charles owned one. "Here's the holy grail of Bass and Lead analog synths: a Moog Minimoog model D synthesizer. From the serial number, it was built in 1974/5, so it's 40 years old. It's had two owners, the last of whom has had it for 30 of those years.
It was serviced in November of 2014 by David Trouse of Cotati, California. He cleaned contacts and springs, and reported that all switches and controls function well. It has not had its oscillators replaced, so it has the original Moog sound. It isn't perfect - a couple of keys could ideally use new bushings, but are quite playable. As with all of these units, you have to tune the oscillators manually - and that's a big part of their unique sound. It comes with printed operation and service manuals."
