"The Goblin Box is a unique electronic instrument controlled by light, in the style of a theremin. As with a traditional theremin, basic use is immediate and straightforward (just wave your hand around in the air!), but practice will reward advanced users with significant precision and control... and for the terminally impatient, a CV input allows access to the conveniences of sequencing...
FEATURES
Pitch Control -- Root note. One knob, one sensor.
Chaos Control -- Ranges from just the root note, to a modulatory mess, to formants, to blasts of high-frequency static. One knob, one sensor.
Audio Out -- Line-level, quarter-inch jack.
Control Voltage (CV) In -- Control the pitch with an external sequencer. Quarter-inch jack.
Precision Sensing -- The (analog, non-quantized) sensors can be individually manipulated from up to a few inches away and have the level of granularity required for deliberate, repeatable performances.
Pilot Light -- Allows full operation even in complete darkness. Especially in complete darkness.
Portability -- Comfortable as either a tabletop studio unit or handheld live unit. Ergonomics suitable for one-handed play or two. Controls to compensate for differing levels of ambient light. Runs off a nine-volt."
