The Tr-8 and Kaoss Pads make a great combo, giving you the ability to synchronize and effect loops on-the-fly and add side-chaining and scatter from the Tr-8."

Anyway, here's a basic set up instructional followed by a quick jam to illustrate the way this functions (I still consider this "laptop free" because the iPad is so portable and feels more like hardware in this configuration)
