"What it looks like when an iPad meets a 70's tape recorder! Amida is a vocoder infused progressive Dubstep track, heavily inspired by Tibetan monk throat-singing. I call it 'Monk Step' AmidA started as a remix of one of my earlier works named “Amitabha (Amitābha)” that I published four years ago. Yup it took four years to finish this "masterpiece". I’ve never taken so long to finish a track ever and I’m hoping I’ll never take this long with tracks in the future. Apps used in the production of this track: Steinberg Cubasis, KORG Gadget, Auxy, Virsyn Harmony Voice & iVoxel and more."

"Messing around with the older version of Auxy (which still has MIDI out functionality) triggering the RX-5 on drums, JU-06 on bass and D-550 for chords. The clap of the RX-5 is routed through the Roland SDE-1000 delay. I wasn't super happy with the end result but it was still neat to see how the iPad can play with hardware so I figured I'd uploaded it anyway."

"I had planned to make a video featuring a couple of apps, but it turned into just Auxy, because I need time to figure out how to use Genome! That'll be for another video then...

Anyway, here's a basic set up instructional followed by a quick jam to illustrate the way this functions (I still consider this "laptop free" because the iPad is so portable and feels more like hardware in this configuration)

It's a lot of fun and I think I'm going to explore this method much more...
