Rob Hordijk - Showing the new Sync OSC Part 2 & 3

Parts 2 and 3 have been added to this post.

Switched on Microbrute

Published on Jul 17, 2016 DouglasHurdGymnast

"Spent this morning recording four bagatelles of pure Microbrute straight to a DP008-EX recorder out in the garden (no midi or fx other than the stock verb....limitations and all that jazz). I love this little synth!

1 - Two Part Invention
Ended up writing it down first for convenience. It's baroque style but an original piece so no lawsuits please :)

2 - CCTV
The Microbrute rocks this sort of stuff

3 - Drivebrute
Honestly, I'd love to just write old game music forever

4 - Goodbye
Or "ciao meow" as I lamely say to my cat. I think the MB copes quite well with mellower material, which I hadn't really appreciated until now.

Gear: Microbrute, DP008-EX and lawnmower extension lead"

"All tracks performed and all sounds created and tweaked with TEENGAE ENGINEERING OP-1. Tiny monster! FM and other weird and rare algorithms on board.
Nice lokks and graphics."

Moog Jam 17 - I am a Sub37

Published on Jul 16, 2016 Modular Landing

"The Moog Sub 37 is an amazing and fun analog synth -- so easy to get a variety of good sounds out of, and it can also be used for sound processing. There are four Sub 37 parts in this piece: (1) a sequenced part sent from Logic via MIDI into the sub, (2) a lead part which was fed into a Moog 500 series Analog Delay (which you hear at the very beginning and end of the tracks in feedback mode); (3) another part where I play a C#m arpeggio mid-way through the piece; (4) a piano part recorded and then sent through the Sub37 for filter, resonance and noise effects. Lastly, there's a straight piano part as well, played on a Schimmel grand, as well as some drum loops in Logic and a bit of text-to-speech synthesis."

New Minimoog Model D Pilot 2016 Raw Demo

Minimoog Model D Pilot 2016 Raw Demo from Modular Grey on Vimeo.

"Quick demo of a new Minimoog Model D (#10) from the pilot production run at Moogfest 2016.

This is by no means a musical or well-thought-out demo. Watch your volume levels.

For the sequence sections it’s being driven by a Novation Circuit via MIDI. Recorded the high output to line in on a Tascam DR-40 - 48kHz, 16-bit.

Visual markers:

Part 01: Sequence - Filter - 00:02

Part 02: Sequence - Oscillators - 02:31

Part 03: Sequence - Overdrive - 05:38

Part 04: Sequence - Noise - 05:55

Part 05; Sequence - Modulation - 07:04

Part 06: Keyboard - Oscillators - 10:46

Part 07: Keyboard - Filter - 13:15

Part 08: Keyboard - General - 14:39

Part 09: Sequence - General - Audio Only (camera cut out) - 19:17"

Circuit Videos by Modular Grey

Circuit from Modular Grey on Vimeo.

"Playing around with sequencing a modular patch using the Notation Circuit. Part one is the wavefolded bass sound from Braids and Part two is based around the STO and VCOb + delay. Part two is also sequencing the JU-06. Drums are coming from the Analog Rytm and Circuit. Analog Keys is helping out as well with a couple more sounds. Stereo tracked through an API 5500 and RND MBP, with some additional processing in Live (Eq, Ozone)"

"Started this track on a plane. Novation Circuit with ReFace DX and JU-06. Compression & EQ added."

Patching for fun - Buchla Music Easel

Published on Jul 16, 2016 100 Things I Do

"Some real time exploration with no purpose in mind other than to see where I would end up from no starting position. For anyone that has not used a music easel hopefully this will give you some insight to the world of Banana patching. Before I got my Easel i was perplexed why so many people used the word 'immediate' when talking about this instrument. Once you learn to experiment you realise how quickly you can pivot a sound from atonal exploration to well tempered tunes."
