"The TX816 is a monster of DX and FM digital synthesis. It is a unique system in that it is a rack unit that could take up to eight TF1 modules. A TF1 module is basically a DX7 condensed down to a single circuit board with almost no front panel controls. Definitely designed for use with external hardware and software controllers the TX816 allows you to easily carry around up to eight DX7s! Software such as MOTU Unisyn, Emagic SounDiver, or even another DX7 can be used to program the sounds in each module via MIDI."

-CALC- New Rig - Novation Circuit, Circuit Mono Station, Peak and Elektron Digitakt
Published on Jun 23, 2017 -CALC-
"Headphones or speakers will give the best results for this one.
Well...this feels like a special combination, one I intend to explore thoroughly, it's definitely my new live set-up.
Circuit is the master clock and sequences Peak's notes. Also used for super quick beat making.
Digitakt is an incredible sampler, easiest Elektron to use so far and is very yielding.
Circuit Mono Station is a thing to behold it is so versatile and crazy but still comes up with the goods time and time again. Minimal use with just a couple of Sine basses here but it still sits really well.
Peak... what can I say?... it is a masterpiece in my humble opinion (which also has a slight bias :o).
The Digitakt and Circuit are running through a MIDI merge into Peak so they can both control it, Circuit handling the notes, Digitakt taking care of CC other MIDI commands, in fact the very beginning of this track is the Peak sequenced with a sequence of program change messages and recorded into the Digitakt sampler.
It's a pretty endless and fun cycle."

Amazing analog ROLAND JX-3P vs Darth NoiseLab - spacesounds & PG-200
Published on Jun 23, 2017 NoiselabCH
"Meeting vintage ROLAND JX-3P & the programmer PG-200, exploring sounds from deep space and deep sea, some mad house sounds, psychedelic fun.
The ROLAND JX-3P is a 6-voice polyphonic analog synthesizer with 2 DCO's per voice, resonant high- and lowpass filter, on board chorus and 128-step sequencer. Usual substractive synthesis with option to cross-modulate the 2 DCOs, resulting in unusual metallic analog sounds.
As most analog synths from the early 1980's the ROLAND JX-3P had commercially no chance against the new digital synths, e.g. Yamaha DX7. Still somewhat underrated, I think it's a great synth with it's own character, probably less fat than the Junos (due to the software generated LFO and ADSR the JX-3P uses), however much more versatile in my view. At least with PG-200 or another suitable controller."
Elektron Digitakt and Analog Heat // Sampling and Beat making
