Tetrapad: Chapter 2 - Voltages Mode

Published on Nov 25, 2017 intellijel

"In Chapter 2 we check out Tetrapad's Voltages Mode, which turns the four pads into a panel of eight buttons that can each send eight stored voltages. This puts 64 stored voltages at your fingertips which can create a sort of preset memory for your modular system! Voltages can be randomized, and they can also be slewed to make them slide from one set of values to another.

Tetrapad is a versatile, multi-dimensional, touch-sensitive control surface for Eurorack. Each of its four pads use force sensing resistors to respond to both the vertical position of your finger and its pressure. Four push encoders and a shift function give you even more tactile control over your modular system.
Tetrapad operates in numerous modes — each of which configures the module to perform a specific control task. Through these modes, Tetrapad can emulate a bank of faders; a voltage storage device; a finger drumming surface; a chord generator; an 8-key keyboard; four independent LFOs; or an 8-switch panel. The chosen mode determines what type of signal (CV, note, trigger, gate, etc.) is sent from each of Tetrapad’s eight independent outputs, while its multitude of multi-colored LEDs keep you informed of exactly what’s happening within each mode.
Tetrapad automatically remembers how you’ve configured each of its modes, and retains these settings when powered off. By default, Tetrapad automatically saves these settings every minute, or whenever you change modes. This makes Tetrapad ideal for live performance, since you know it will always power up with your configurations intact."

Improvisation LXXXI for Prophet '08

Published on Nov 24, 2017 Sacred Synthesis

"Three different patches are used in this improvisation. The monophonic patch consists of a pulse tone having a delayed vibrato and a wide and very slowly modulated pulse width. It covers the whole range of timbres from a nasal reed to a hollow flute.

The first and last polyphonic patch is a basic PWM pad that uses the 4-pole filter for a change and no resonance. The other polyphonic patch that appears in the middle of the piece is a simple flute chorus sound. Both sounds are set to allow the modulation wheel to open the filter for dynamic changes.

The days are now short, our lakes and ponds are freezing, and soon the ground will be covered in snow. All will sleep for five frigid months, but meanwhile, the music will keep us warm and cheerful until the robins return.

Instrumentation:
DSI Prophet '08 Keyboard (2)
DSI Prophet '08 Module

Bass:
DSI Evolver Desktop
Hammond XPK 200L Pedalboard

Call/Response - experiment 2 in analog video synthesis

Published on Nov 25, 2017 retrosynthads

"More late night analog video synthesis noodles set to music.

Video created through traditional analog video feedback techniques. Only digital effects are fades.

Music made with a couple of Roland TB-03's, an SH-01a and a TR-08. Recorded, noodled around and manipulated in Reason."

Audio Damage Basic & DSI Mopho - Freyja Tattoo by Roikat

Published on Nov 25, 2017 Roikat

"A song made mostly with Audio Damage's Basic monophonic synthesizer plugin. DSI Mopho joins at the end for the final 'Compu-Coltrane' lead, and there's a very quiet U-He Hive pad to combat "digital silence". All effects are Audio Damage plugins. TRIGGER WARNING: Extreme robot on robot violence."
