Testing the La Trobe Serge

Published on Feb 10, 2018 otherunicorn

"Testing the La Trobe Serge. More work is required. Quite a few of the chips appear to have during its earlier life or extended sleep in a box in a shed. Yes, there are a lot of painful notes in this. I wasn't trying to be musical."

Roland Juno 106 + MKS 7 Soundtrack for Apollo 16

Published on Feb 10, 2018 Earmonkey Music

"I've been restricting myself to a limited setup to help me focus. It's a nice challenge. This track uses only two pieces of gear; the Roland Juno 106 and the Roland MKS-8. The drums are the TR-707 sounds within the MKS7. Layering the Juno and the MKS gives some really nice fat vintage analog tone. Hope you enjoy. I think the video footage is public domain from NASA. Apollo 16 mission."

Published on Feb 10, 2018 CatSynth TV

"A look at the new Strymon Magneto Eurorack module at NAMM 2018. TL;DR - we want one!

From Strymon's webiste
"To capture the full experience and complexity of a vintage tape echo machine, every last tape system attribute was relentlessly studied and faithfully recreated. From the sought-after natural saturation and soft clipping of magnetic tape when driven hard, to hands-on real-time controls for tape age, tape crinkle, and mechanical wow and flutter, Magneto delivers a rich multi-head delay experience that adds life and vibe to your sound."
