"Hey! Want NUT STRIPS, but can't find them or find them too expensive? Perhaps you LUUUUV the fact that you can squeeze your modules together tightly, but always feel like you are shooting blanks when it comes to slide nuts? SOLUTION ALERT: STUFF those slide-nuts and you will always hit your mark while getting the tightest fit!"

Demo :: Prophet 8 vs Rev2 (no talking - just patches)
Published on Feb 15, 2018 SOLON Music
"Demo to compare the sound of the Prophet 8 and Rev2 playing the same patches. I used four patches from the factory presets for the Prophet 8 and three of my own patches:
1) Tom Sawyer
2) T8 Strings
3) Ice Planet
4) Analog Bliss
5) SOLON Arp
6) SOLON Swell
7) SOLON Homage to Synthmania
All patches were loaded up to the Rev2 via the Soundtower editor software.
I routed the MIDI from the Prophet 8 keyboard to the Rev2 and recorded the audio of both simultaneously so that the performances were exactly the same.
To hopefully make it intuitive to know which one is being listening to, the audio you are hearing is from the synth which is lit up - the other one is darkened."
Sequential Prophet 5 vs Prophet VS basic waveform comparision
Published on Feb 19, 2018 synthlegends
"In that demo I demonstrate the basic waveforms from the Sequential Circuits Prophet 5 rev. 3 and Prophet VS in comparision.
1. single saw
2. single saw filter
3. single saw resonance
4. two saw tuned
5. two saw detuned
6. two saw detuned (Prophet VS four saw)
7. saw lead filter
8. saw lead resonance
9. pulse and square
10. saw brass
11. saw pad
12. saw bass
13. unison lead
It is a Prophet 5 rev. 3 with curtis filter chips. So, both Prophets have the same filter chips, but the Prophet VS has digital waveforms, whereas the Prophet 5 has analog VCO. The Prophet 5 has only two oscilators, whereas the VS has four oscilators. You also can detune the oscillators and have a lot of modulation possibilites which I didn't demonstrate in this video. But you can really let the VS sound very analogue. Additionaly you have altogehther 128 waveforms (32 user and 98 in ROM).
Of my opinion the Prophet VS is a much more powerful and versatile synth, but the Propeht 5 is a bit warmer sounding. IMO the difference is not so big, also you can let him sound more broad thanks of four oscillators, a mixer envolope and also stereo pan modulation. In this examples I didnt use the onboard chorus of the VS, because the Prophet 5 has none. Also there are no additional effects. It is just pure playing the synhts.

Thanks for watching:-)"
Manny's Polymoog 203a Restoration (by Synthpro)
Published on Feb 19, 2018 synthpro
"Hey guys,
This video is actually for Manny but all are welcome to watch.
This was a very sad polymoog that I brought from the grave to Glory. I show a little slide show of what this unit looked like before the restore, it was a mess and was missing a lot of boards. I had a donor polymoog from a few years back that allowed me to bring this one back to 100% condition.
Thanks for watching!
All the best,
Jareth"

Poly Evolver Keyboard: Icy Pad
Published on Feb 19, 2018 Sacred Synthesis
"This is the sort of sound a Poly Evolver makes when it first wakes up in the morning. It's natural to the instrument. Turn it on, and this is how it first sings to you. Glass, ice, blue water, cold mist - a magnificent mysterious character.
The pad uses an envelope to modulate the filter which, with this particular digital waveshape, has more than the ordinary effect. I also use the high pass filter to occasionally give the sound a distant nasal quality, as if the PEK were being heard from an cheap pocket radio.
Instrumentation:
DSI Poly Evolver Keyboard
DSI Poly Evolver Rack
Bass:
DSI Evolver Desktop
Hammond XPK 200L Pedalboard
Effects:
Lexicon MX 300
Performed live and recorded directly to a Tascam CD-RW900 Mk II."
