An echo is a synthesizer's best friend
Published on Aug 8, 2018 once upon a synth
"Meet Paul, George, Suzy, Amy, Marvin, Victor, Mary, and Sarah. Synthesizers and delay pedals have been best friends for decades. Nothing can add new life to a dry synth like a lovely echo. Whether you use analog tape or clean digital, it doesn't matter.
If you’re feeling down and sad
Remember that it's not so bad
Pour yourself a glass of apple cider
And place an echo on your synthesizer

Roland System 500 Meets 100M
Published on Aug 8, 2018 theianboddy
"Roland System 500 being sequenced by the 182 module from the Roland System 100-M.
All the sound (except echo & reverb) are coming from the System 500.
Three voices:
1) 2 VCO bass line being sequenced from the 182.
2) High sequence is a third VCO not being sequenced but on hard sync with VCO1.
3) Phased White Noise percussion.
The System 500 555 module provides the master clock from the S&H Clock Out. This clocks the 100M 182 sequencer as well as both envelopes on the 540 module.
Playing the 182 sequencer live involves changing the sequence length as well as switching the 3V / 10V switch. The higher voltage really stretches the tuning for some sonic madness!

IK MULTIMEDIA UNO ANALOG SYNTH // HOW DOES IT SOUND?
Published on Aug 8, 2018 soundseasy
"In this Video we check out the new lightweight analog monosynth UNO from Ik Multimedia. This has got to be one of the cheapest truely analog synths on the market and it sounds great.
Uno does have an on board delay but no reverb. So we sent it directly into the Meris Mercury 7 reverb. Drum are all from the Elektron Digitakt.
What I found was the synth section sounded great. Nice fat analog Waveforms and two oscillators. It is only Monophonic though. It has a simple single LFO and basic envelopes. All in all you can get ripping bass and lead sounds which is what I expect most people will use it for.
Is it worth the $$$ yes, for sure."

"One more Dreadbox & Polyend Medusa Hybrid Synthesizer music demo. All sounds besides the drums are made and recorded straight from Medusa's master audio output. No wavetables were harmed during the shot of this video.
The video, sound design and audio composition by Piotr Raczyński.
Recorded 11.07.2018 in Polyend HQ."
Delta CEP A & Effexx & Spectralis II
Published on Aug 7, 2018 Jörg Schaaf
"The Delta CEP A repeats just one note with a fat swarm oscillator sound. The output of the Delta is fed into the EFFEXX Multi FX module for some reverb. The RT-1701 effect setting adds a nice dark atmosphere to the sound. All other instruments are sequenced and played by the Spectralis 2 Synthesizer. BTW. - the Spectralis II drum sounds in this example are samples that I created with our Eurorack modules.
The DELTA CEP A is a new semimodular musicsynthesizer with monophonic and paraphonic playmodes, preset memories and snapshot automation. The DELTA CEP A is the perfect starting point into the EURORACK world and will become available soon as desktop standalone synthesizer and EURORACK module. The DELTA CEP A works just out of the box without any cable patching. If you are looking for a EURORACK FX unit or for POLYPHONY within your cabinet, you should also have a closer look as well. Are you curious about connectivity with your other gear? The DELTA CEP A has a MIDI interface and connects to every MIDI gear (MIDI sequencers, Keyboards etc.) The desktop version comes with standard 1/4 inch jack inputs and outputs.
The audio streams in that video are directly recorded from the main outs of the Delta. We have not used any compression or volume automation. What you hear is the original sound of the unit. If you have the impression, that it is not loud enough, please just adjust the volume;-)"
Joranalogue Filter 8 "the cutting edge in analogue VCF design"
Published on Aug 8, 2018 DivKidVideo
"TIMING INDEX / SECTIONS BELOW - Here's the new Filter 8 from Joranalogue. It's a VCA based filter topology similar to but not exactly an OTA design. It features a unique resonance circuit and (according to Joranalogue) is "the cutting edge in analogue VCF design". Now I can't talk specifics about the circuit but feature wise it certainly packs in a massive punch. 8 filter outputs including 1, 2, 3 and 4 pole low pass filters, a 1 pole high pass, unique band boost and notch, phase shifted output and 4 pole band pass. There's gain compensation to even out each output under self oscillation, we can freeze and hold the core of the module to effectively silence and halt the output or freeze (like a sample/track and hold) when it's producing it's own CV signals. The outputs turn to 8 phase shifted sine waves that tracks great as a multi phase oscillator or LFO and patching feedback means we can create a range of saw like waves with various exp. lin. and log. curves. We can drive the filter with the second input, or again with feedback, exponential and linear FM means we can get gorgeous rich formant throaty vocal tones under audio rate modulation or musical harmonious FM tones when using it as an oscillator. There's even more so I'll let the video do the talking.
TIMING INDEX / SECTIONS
00:00 hello, introduction and patch previews of what's to come
01:17 Feature walkthrough, going through bits of the manual, all the ins outs and controls.
03:26 Filter sweeps, 1, 2, 3 and 4 pole low pass, high pass, band boost and notch, phase shifted out and the band pass. Various resonances and output comparisons.
06:35 Using dual inputs to drive the filter
7:11 Dual inputs driving the filters. Sweeping through the responses.
08:40 Animating the filter. Using envelopes, sequences and gate patterns to modulate 1v/oct, exponential FM and resonance depth.
10:42 Filter rich layered and animated detuned sounds. This also looks at building up dynamic patterns and filter modulation.
13:41 Audio rate modulation of cut off and audio rate modulation of 'hold' for a sample and hold like "freeze". Similar to sync and downsampling FX.
16:28 Driving the filter with feedback. Creating clipping, saturation and non linear responses. At point digital-like phase modulation / phase distortion overtones appear.
20:09 Phase shifter! Using the phase shifted output like a phase shifter effect. There's also audio rate resonance depth modulation in this patch.
21:56 A short acid break. Patching up some 3 pole 18dB per octave low pass patches for a little bit of an acidic filter pattern.
22:48 Filter Pings. Using the ping input to excite the filter core. Create melodic lines, deep bass, percussion and linear FM tones.
25:42 8 phase oscillator. Using the oscillating filter as a sine oscillator. Glassy and harmonious FM tones under modulation.
27:20 Patching feedback over the oscillating sine to create new wave shapes. You can make a near perfect saw wave as well as other exponential and logarithmic ramp shapes as well as some odd comb like shapes.
28:19 8 phase voltage controlled LFO. Using multiple phases to create cascading modulation across a wider patch. As above with audio we look at feedback to make new LFO shapes too.
30:22 Slew limiting. As the filter works at sub audio rates we can use it slew a signal. Here we add glide by slewing a pitch sequence. We also add resonance for a way to inject wobble and vibrato into the pattern.
32:39 FM oscillator tones - a little musical break. We look at gated the hold on and off while this operates as an oscillator. This creates little clicky rhythms and breaks in the sequences we're using.
33:52 Resonating envelopes - using envelopes to excite the near oscillating core of the filter to create wobbles within the envelopes shape. We can also superimpose audio rate tones or LFOs into the envelopes too."
