Vocoding with Lucille Ball - Machine Made Voices! (1939)
Published on Apr 13, 2014 British Pathé
A bit more talk box than vocoder, but you get the idea.
"Titles read: "MACHINE MADE VOICES!"
Hollywood, California, United States of America.
In a Hollywood CBS recording studio we see American film star actress Lucille Ball telling us she has just travelled cross-country by train. She holds two small amplifiers against her throat and mouths some words. The amplifiers transform the sound of a steam train coming from a record into 'steam train words' picked up by Lucille's larynx. I cannot make out all of them - the last are "Hello everybody".
Three technician men sit at a table wearing headphones and making notes. Lucille does another demonstration - this one seems to be 'cow words' - very difficult to decipher. I guess it was still in the early stages!

Palo Radio by Bloop and Quack
Elby Euro Serge and processed guitar.
"Members Doug Lynner (modular synthesizer) and R Duck (processed guitar) began improvising together several years ago as Bloop Quack. The pace picked up in the summer of 2018 when the pair began airing their weekly, live radio show, Bloop and Quack, on KZSU Stanford 90.1FM in the San Francisco Bay Area
This album consists of sections edited from the Bloop and Quack Show. The on-air performances are improvised and recorded in stereo from the broadcast feed. No additional recording or overdubbing is done. They are mastered for release.

Resonance Reappearing
Published on Feb 7, 2019 Gordon Monahan
"Resonance Reappearing is a motion-activated sound sculpture. Using Max/MSP software, a continuously changing score is created that draws from a library of prerecorded sounds. These sounds are transmitted through a network of motors and wires creating a vibrating, kinetic audio system that gives physical form to sound.
Four long piano wires are suspended in the gallery, with groups of electric motors hanging on each wire. The motors are attached to the speaker outputs of audio amplifiers, which have audio soundfiles playing through them, that are then amplified through the motors and into the wires. Each wire has a contact pickup attached at each end, and these contact pickups send amplified signals into a PA system in the gallery. At the same time, there are motors attached at the end of the piano wires, that cause the wires to flex with off-center motor movements. A motion sensor triggers the system to fade in and fade out, resulting in a continuously changing flexible sound system.
The piece attempts to visualize the invisibility of sound, by deconstructing the audio system into a vibrating network of motors and wires that are set in motion by the sounds transmitted through them, thus creating a kinetic audio system that is activated by the sound waves travelling through and emanating away from themselves."

"This is a new, ARP logo sticker very similar to the one found on the ARP String Ensemble SE-IV. The sticker size is exactly the same, but the cut corners are slightly bigger and the gold background is slightly brighter as matching the original color on this kind of vinyl was very hard."
