Moog Matriarch Synthesizer Demos with Mikael Jorgensen & Philip Cornish

Moog Matriarch Synthesizer Demo with Mikael Jorgensen - All Playing, No Talking Published on Apr 25, 2019 Musician's Friend

"Moog Matriarch is a semi-modular, 4-note paraphonic synthesizer and the newest member of the Mother family of synths.

Demoed here by Mikael Jorgensen of Wilco, Matriarch's design is based on some of Bob Moog's most revered circuits. The all-analog signal path features 4 powerful VCOs, dual ladder filters, stereo delay, an arpeggiator and a performance friendly 256-note sequencer.

The 4 VCO design can be played in three distinct modes: 4-note paraphonic, 2-note paraphonic and monophonic. Each oscillator can select from a variety of waveshapes and octaves, allowing you to create incredibly rich and harmonically complex sounds. As mentioned, Matriarch features two classic Moog Ladder Filters that can be used in three distinct modes: parallel (High Pass/Low Pass), stereo (Low Pass/Low Pass), and series (HP/LP).

Where Grandmother featured an analog spring reverb, Matriarch features a dual analog delay inspired by the MF-104M Moogerfooger circuit. This delay module offers up to 700ms of stereo or ping-pong style repeats.

Although Matriarch has 90 patch points, enough to satisfy even the most adventurous of sound designers, it can be played right out of the box thanks to its intuitive layout and signal flow."

Double Korg Minilogue jam - Minilogue, Minilogue XD and Volca Sample with heavy effects

Published on Apr 25, 2019 Expanding Sound

"I recently picked up a Minilogue XD, and I am a big fan. My plan was to sell my old Minilogue and use the money towards the new one. It is a tough call though, the older Minilogue does have some differences that make it unique unto itself. So lately I've been having some fun with both.

I panned each Minilogue a little bit to separate the sound. I also pushed the delays pretty hard. The new ones delay is just so much cleaner, and it sounds great. Something about the old delay sounds really cool too. Its dirty and gritty. It has a life of its own.

I gravitate more towards song based jams, I used presets to change the sequences to make more complex chord progressions, as opposed to staying on a 16 step with modulation. I liked how this one sounded.

Give it a listen, and I hope you enjoy! Do you hear how different the delays sound? which do you like better?"

Juno-106 vs. JX-8P: Basic Sounds-- Is the JX as Powerful as the Juno?? A Friendly Comparison

Published on Apr 25, 2019 MR TUNA Music

"Pour a fresh cup of coffee and have a seat on your comfiest wooden barstool, it's time for a friendly comparison between two awesome vintage synths: The Roland Juno-106 and JX-8P.
Both members of the Juno family and both 6-voice DCO analog synthesizers, there's a lot to compare; but we focus on the 106 feature-set and how well the 8P emulates that classic Juno sound.

Let me know what you think about how these two super impressive synths stack up against each other!"

Arturia V Collection 7 - new synths teaser demo

Published on Apr 25, 2019 Hunart©

"Hi everyone!

Got my hands (but just for a short time) on the 3 new synths from the Arturia V Collection 7 package - CZ V, Synthi V and Mellotron V.

I`ve recorded 10 - 10 tracks from each synth to simply create a track that can show a piece of sound what these can produce. Except one sidechain compressor and a limiter on the whole material no external fx, compression or EQ were used."
