Solton Ketron Programmer 24 pattern programming HD DEMO

Published on May 2, 2019 RemasterMix

See if you can guess the song before the vocals kick in. Pretty cool. It's too bad playback is affected when switching around though. Would have been great for a live setup otherwise.

Model:Samples does Amiga Tracker Music - Crystal Hammer

Published on May 1, 2019 tubesockor

"Recreating the classic Commodore Amiga tracker song 'Crystal Hammer' - on an Elektron Model:Samples. The song was originally written by Karsten Obarski back in 1987.

The first section is a background story about Amiga and trackers in general, as well as the process on how this recreation was done.

All the sounds were converted from the original ST-01 files, and the song data was manually input on the Model:Samples, only using four out of the six available channels (all for the sake of authenticity)

At 3:25, the music starts.

This was made possible thanks to the new firmware update 1.02A, which allows samples to be parameter locked."

Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565 by J.S. Bach on the Baloran The River synthesizer

Published on May 1, 2019 Sean Christopher Evoking Emotion with Synthesizers

"This piece is dedicated to my father, Gary Dockery (1942 - 2019) who introduced me to Bach and other great classical music artists. Thank you dad, and I love you.

Toccata and Fugue in D minor, BWV 565 is a piece of organ music written, according to its oldest extant sources, by Johann Sebastian Bach. The piece opens with a toccata section, followed by a fugue that ends in a coda. It is one of the most famous works in the organ repertoire.

I recreated Bach's genius using a Baloran the River synth which was multitracked to Steinberg's Cubase 10 Pro. The reverb is from Exponential Audio’s awesome R4 reverb plugin. I'm estimating that I spent close to 100 hours putting this together....and in the end I believe that it was worth every single minute. Working on Bach pieces is very humbling. My God that man was a genius!"

Meng Qi Wing Pinger Prototype Videos

Playlist:

1. Wing Pinger - Chaos
With multiple feedback and cross modulation paths, Wing Pinger operates according to the principles of chaos theory. All parameters except volume are interactive, future outputs are related to the current state as well as parameter settings.
2. Wing Pinger - CVGate
Wing Pinger talks to modular synthesizers via Banana jacks. Use TRIGGER outputs to sync external synthesizers to filter pings. STEP outputs are weighted mixes from shift registers.
3. Wing Pinger - Tonal Patterning
Be chaotic at will, you don't miss the expressions from melodies. Wing Pinger is capable of generating pentatonic patterns from its carefully weighted STEP modulation.
4. Wing Pinger - External Sound Processing
Process stereo or dual mono signals through great sounding filters, add spice to the tone, generate movements with special Wing Pinger modulations.

Wing Pinger will be at SUPERBOOTH and other events. You can find the list on the Meng Qi website.

"Your link to organic analog texture, rhythm, noise and melodies.

Travels between chaotic and tonal passages as fast as your emotions shift.

It encourages fine playing gestures and rewards practicing.

Wing Pinger is an analog musical instrument, centered around a pair of 4-pole resonate low pass filters.

Surrounded by a network of comparators, pulse converters, binary counters and shift registers.

Despite the absence of oscillators, it's fully capable, and actually designed to generate sound on its own."
