The Mojave Desert Modular Experiment: Zachary Paul
Published on Jul 1, 2019 Perfect Circuit
"In the Mojave Desert Modular Experiment, we worked with local artists to create modular systems suited to their own styles and workflows...despite the fact that none of them had ever used modular synths before. Each artist/group had two weeks to get to know their system and prepare a performance.
Zachary Paul was the first participant: an LA-based violinist whose work is based around evolving textures of looped and processed string sounds. He typically uses effects pedals, but put the modular synth to excellent work as an advanced effects processor.
Come by our showroom to try out these systems for yourself, and keep an eye out for more results from the experiment each Monday this month! Read more about Zachary's system and get links to his music here: https://www.perfectcircuit.com/signal..."

Big Merp vs The Photo Theremin [Episode 154]
Published on Jul 1, 2019 CatSynth TV
"Our cat Marlon (aka 'Big Merp') is baffled by a photo theremin. As he tries to figure it out, all hell breaks loose.
A photo theremin is an electronic musical instrument in which a photocell resistor is used to control the pitch of the oscillator. This particular model also has an LFO that modifies the pitch of the main oscillator. It was purchased in eBay in the mid 2000s.
For more cats and synthesizers, please subscribe to this channel and visit www.catsynth.com"
Too funny. Kitty looks "slightly annoyed" at the end. :)
