"This is a monophonic bass synth sound tutorial for the tangible waves AE Modular Synth. MORE INFO BELOW :)

The Patch:
VCO Square - 4ATTMIX - WASP Filter (modulated by decay envelope) - VCA (modulated by another decay envelope)
Then:
VCO Triangle - 2SIGNALAMP - 4ATTMIX ... etc.
Then:
... WASP Filter - WAVEFOLDER - VCA

The WASP filter does nice bass duties as long as the resonance isn't increased too much. Adding the WAVEFOLDER after the filter, lets you mangle that filter-smoothed waveform again for some distorted dirty bass sounds. Turning up the WAVEFOLDER's Drive knob is ofter already enough."

"Live performance multi-tracked to MixPre-10T and mixed in Logic with additional processing and effects.

With the addition of two Polyend Anywhere modules and two Intellijel Palette cases to my setup, I can now fit a powerful, fully-battery-powered system into my backpack and make music anywhere in nature. I almost called this first piece 'Trio for Friends, Rings, and Sparrow' because it uses three voices: Just Friends played by Monome Norns (via Crow), a micro version of Rings into Clouds, and a live field recording that features a sparrow that flew directly overhead as it sang. Listen closely and you'll notice that the sparrow also called the exact moment the piece ended. Magic. Sparrow Totem.

If you are into sound design this is a great synth for you. Everything has its own LFO or envelope - in addition to global LFO’s and envelopes. As you can see in the pic there are a lot of knobs and a lot of potential for automation.

The tech specs are listed at the motas-6 website if you are either a.) a scientist or b.) interested.

Comes with OG box, power supply, and manual.

The creator continues to put effort into this synth and there have been regular updates to the firmware over the past year and a half."

"Great sounding but obscure discontinued item similar to the Creamware desktop synths...it is a hardware device that runs off software editor which turns it into a great sounding hardware powered synth with MIDI in and analog audio outputs, which doesn't actually use your PC's processing power like a VST software synth....but it does use a software editor to access all the parameters and store presets...other than the ones on the front panel.

I got this many years ago and was supposed to set it up on a Win XP computer but it was around the time of switching to Windows 7 so I never got around to it. I do not have access to a XP computer now to check it out and it has been sitting unused for many years..."

The synths here being played without FX = PURE ANALOG which is a project to find out and show the qualities of analog synthesizers and eventually also hybrids. And exciting Question is also how contemporary synths like this lush GRP A-2 or EREBUS NYX compare to vintage legends like MINIMOOG or ARP ODYSSEY or ROLAND JUPITER 4 etc. So this piece will be played and performed with different synths in the future track by track recorded in DAW without any equing or otherwise processed in DAW, no add modulation, reverb, saturation or other FX. Only a mastering compressor, EQ and Limiter is used on the sum. So what you hear is completely un-FX-ed material -- almost impossible to find these days!!!"
