Qun mk2: Using Granular as a sampler
video upload by Nunomo LLC
"It's a bit tricky, but you can use Granular as a sampler.
Here is the summary:
1. Set GRN mode to ONE
2. Set OSC1 mode to AUX L. AUX L is connected to Granular engine.
2. Set OSC1 keysync to "N" (N means no = turn off). Now pitch won't be changed by played note.
3. Set OSC1 MOD SEL to FREQ 1. Playing note will be converted to Pulse Width = Playing position of the sample.
4. Increase OSC1 MOD WIDTH. Chopping points are spread equally. If you increase the number here, the chopping point will be more spread."
Keyboard Mag July '93 | When vintage synth prices were insanely LOW
video upload by Espen Kraft
"A Yamaha CS80 for 300 bucks? You got it! A Roland Jupiter-8 for 400 bucks? You got it.
How about an Oberheim OB-Xa for 200 bucks? No problem.
Ride the time machine back to 1993 when prices for now sought after synths were an all time LOW.

Moog - The Source 80's Monophonic Analogue Synthesiser SN 3022X

"The Source, not only does it look cool, it also sounds great! The Source was release by Moog in 1981. It is a mono synth and was the first Moog to ever feature patch memory. It has 16 places to save your own sounds, as well as a simple sequencer and arpeggiator, and two fat analog oscillators and the legendary 24 dB Moog filter. The Source seems pretty underrated to us, everyone who has heard in the workshop is pleasantly surprised by its sound. The source is a more budget friendly way to get those early analogue Moog sounds, compared to the Model D and other highly sort after vintage pieces. "

"Here is one review by a Sledge owner/user
Very versatile synth with 3 filter modes, good modulation and wave tables, which is not common on hardware synths. The analogue sounds are great, sounds very close to the Oberheim for its pads, and can sound very Minimoog like also. It is an FM synth and can add harmonics via a FM amount knob but it isn't a true FM like a DX7. How it would work is by assigning the ramp LFO to one oscillator and have the second or 3rd oscillator carriers be modulated by osc1 (or osc2 in the case of osc3) so you can make some basic style patches like bells. I like using it to add harmonics to tones. Making patches is fun and straightforward with a knob per function."
