"Another 4 custom patches from my forthcoming Custom Patch Bank , Drums from The Linndrum LM1.
Only effects used on any patch was the same room verb. more or less the dry signal. no compression with exception of mastering for limiting."
Tech Talk: Introducing MODX+
video upload by Yamaha Synths Official
"The new MODX+ is here! Join the Yamaha Synths Tech Talk team as they take a closer look at this compact, lightweight series of synthesizers, designed to help you take control of your sound and stand out on every stage, studio or stream.
MODX+ is powered by the same innovative technologies found in our flagship MONTAGE synthesizer including the AWM2 (Advanced Wave Memory 2) sample and synthesis engine and a pure FM-X (Frequency Modulation) synth engine for amazing sound playback and complex sound design.
MODX+ Motion Control brings the sophisticated automation of music production to live performances by giving you simultaneous control of up to 128 parameters. So you can shape live sound like a conductor commands an orchestra."
Budget and Splurge Duet - Oberheim OB-X8 and Korg Volca Bass NO TALKING NO EFFECTS 10 Presets
video upload by HansiLa
"I thought it would be fun to take the least expensive synthesizer I have, the Korg Volca Bass and pair it in a jam with my recent purchase and most expensive synth I have: the Oberheim OB-X8.
I made a few random patches on the Volca and picked 10 random presets on the Oberheim to showcase how they'd interact with each other.
I tend to write my music via midi so any leads I play are rudimentary since I'm not proficient on the keys.
In other words....
if you're looking for some incredible keyboardist ripping on the OB-X8, time to skip this one.
As usual, no talking or effects. Also, minimal processing. For this video, all I did was double the Oberheim tracks and slightly panned each left and right to create some width. You'll still hear some of the Oberheim presets do a neat job of moving along the stereo field."
mylarmelodies wrote this an hour after getting a Novation Circuit Tracks
video upload by mylarmelodies
"What is this? So Novation kindly sent a Circuit Tracks, and here's a wee soulful electro brass acid noodle on it after an hour of working it out, using preset sounds, drums and effects (my sequences obviously!). This is recorded straight out of the outs via an IK Multimedia capture device (which is causing the occasional clicks), no post processing. I've put 'paid promotion' as they sent me it, but I wasn't obliged to make a video.
I suspected I'd like it and that appears to be the case, it's got just enough to blast out ideas for tracks without too much to overproduce things with, and lead you astray. You can't just add and add parts, you have to work the ones available, as hardware is good at forcing you to do.
Not used here, but note the two MIDI tracks - there are two mono inputs so you can use it as a sequencer AND mixer for two other things, as well, and blend it all together in one device. If someone was just starting out it really makes for a very low barrier to entry, one could get this, and if you wanted to go further - then choose just two other things, and you don't need any other kit to make it all work together. And it's got an analog clock sync out, so that it can sync les synthes modulaires. Nice. 👹💃🏻"
Soundfreak Buchla Format EMS Modules
See the Superbooth 22 video here, and announcement post here. These are licensed from EMS. The prices have gone up slightly since.
"The Triple Oscillator consists of three independent oscillators. They are identical in controls but different in range and waveforms.
From top to bottom, the three oscillators are labelled 1, 2, and 3, and horizontal lines visually separate them on the panel layout.
The original VCS3 oscillators had a frequency range that extended well below the audible range. This allowed the musician to use them both as sound or modulation sources, mainly thanks to the VCS3 matrix, which allowed a flexible and immediate signal routing.
In the 4U format, where sound and modulation are strictly separate, we provided the oscillator with both Tini-Jax and banana sockets.

The Dual Filter/Oscillator consists of two independent, identical filtering circuits modelled over the Filter/Oscillator section of the VCS 3, with some extra features.
We preserved the original, distinctive Response parameter that allowed you to use the device as a resonant low-pass filter or a self-oscillating bandpass filter. In the latter configuration, the filter produced a pure sine wave that could be used as an audio source.
In addition to that, we designed an FM circuit that allows you to control the filter’s cutoff frequency with both CV and audio signals. A dedicated switch modifies the filter reaction to audio-rate frequency modulation.
The DB switch allows you to change the filter slope from 24 to 18 dB/oct, thus expanding the capabilities beyond the original VCS3 design.

This module merges two separate sections of the VCS3: the Envelope Shaper (upper part of the front panel) and Noise Generator (lower part of the front panel).
The Envelope Shaper combines a VCA and a loopable envelope generator that can work as an LFO. The envelope both controls the VCA level and is available as control voltage.
It can accept up to four distinct sounds thanks to four semi-normalled audio inputs.
The Noise Generator outputs a noise signal with controls over its amplitude and colour. The colour knob defines its timbre by cutting the low or the high frequencies from the default white noise. We chose to expand its design by making this last parameter voltage-controllable.

Buchla Analog Modular Synth and Voice inspired by Sci-Fi Soundscapes 🚀⚡️
video upload by The Galaxy Electric
"The fun continues. Every week we watch a vintage sci-fi film on our stream MST3K-style. This provides fun in the moment as well as endless inspiration for later. Here we conjure vibes from our time spent soaking in these tape music and vintage sci-fi soundscapes. The patch started with an arpeggiation of the "Goonies Chord" which includes the notes C, E, F, A which makes a FM7 2nd Inv. chord. The chord's sound was generated by an instance of Pro 53 VSTi by Native Instruments, arguably one of the best VSTis of all time. The arpeggiated chord was recorded into the buffer of the 1979 SMP. From there the "Position" was modulated by a slow looping function from the 281 Quad Function Generator. The noise drops were created by pinging a lowpass gate channel of the 292 that is being fed some white noise by the 266 Source of Uncertainty. The pings were being clocked by a slowly timed Pulser coming from the 245 Sequential Voltage Source. The result was fed into the 277 Signal Delay which had a delay time of over a second cued up. This creates a minimal and ever changing rhythm bed. Lastly you get some 258 Dual Oscillator Square wave that is sent to the 297 Infinite Phase Shifter. The volume level and low pass filter frequency are being controlled simultaneously by the 216 Touch Activated Voltage Source. The pitch of the Oscillator is being transposed by the 216. Got it! It's much more fun to just throw some headphones and give it a listen.
As always the lovely vocal echoes are emitting from Jacqueline's chords. Her signature chain of two Boss RE-20 Space Echoes provides an aging tape loop effect.

The Future Was Then | Synth Library Music | Retro Computing
video upload by Mamotreco
"Visited a museum of technology with a wonderful computing exhibit which included computers of all shapes and sizes (from 70s mainframe to 80s 8-bit home computers and some 90s systems too).
#vintagecomputer #80ssynth #homecomputers
The background music track "Cyclades" is from my Cybersyn - Intrigues Telematiques album (available here with exclusive artwork: https://synthandsundry.bandcamp.com/a...) or as part of the Mamotreco Channel Compilation linked below.
Cyclades is a reference to a pre-TCP/IP network protocol prototyped in France in the early 70s. While the standard was never adopted for France's homegrown telematic revolution, it did incorporate packet switching and was designed to work as a network of networks. As with much advanced technology, it fell by the wayside when the French Postal Service (La Poste/P.T.T.) opted for the more established but more primitive Transpac concept based on the X.25 network standard.
