One of my favorite tracks made by the Yellow Magic Orchestra
Solid State Survivor from the year 1979
Rest In Peace Yukihiro Takahashi ✨

YMO used a lot stuff in the original track. I have reduced the arrangement to some sounds.

bass synthesizer sounds: Arp Odyssey mk.3 from the year 1978
chords and lead synth: Oberheim OB-X and OB-Xa synthesizer (1979/1980), Arp Odyssey
fx sounds: Arp Odyssey

The ARP ODYSSEY Synthesizer is one of the legendary synths in music history. Used by many pop and rock groups in the 70s, 80s and today. Here can you find the full ODYSSEY playlist with a lot single sound demos, synth comparisions and one synth demo tracks. Enjoy.

[patch] Deeper and Deeper (Blofeld)

video upload by Synthesizer Video Service

"'Deeper and Deeper' is a fantastic piece of music by 'The Fixx' that they composed for the movie 'Streets of Fire'. It wonderfully shows the use of the PPG Wave (just like many other pieces by this band). Since the Waldorf Blofeld is also a bit of a great-grandson of the PPG, let's find out today if we can recreate the distinctive sound at the beginning of the piece.

Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world's most hated audio tools. Today we are going to talk about the Casio HT3000. Is this 80s home keyboard with an analog filter the last affordable vintage synth. Will it replace your Moog or Prophet?

My dear friend and owner of the HT-3000, Matthias Jakisic is really busy at the moment:
