One-Stop Roland Shop: The SH-4D First Look

video upload by Patchwerks

"In today's stream we have a look at the Roland SH-4D. The SH-4D is a desktop powerhouse with hands-on workflow and deep synthesis tools for designing the sounds of yesterday, today, and tomorrow. Create spontaneous musical moments with 11 OSC Models, a multitimbral pattern sequencer, extensive effects, and plenty of polyphony. And with the loaded panel, dynamic controls, motion recording, and more, you can craft evolving sounds and compositions as fast as the ideas come. Equally suited for studio, stage, and traveling, the SH-4d is an incredibly versatile synth that unleashes inspiration from the moment you power on.

Pro Synth Network LIVE! - Synclavier Regen Special

video upload by Pro Synth Network

"Synclavier are best known for their mighty computer-based instrument in the late 70s and early 80s. It was an FM behemoth that added sampling and high-quality digital multi-tracking to its repertoire.

Alongside systems such as the Fairlight CMI, it was the stuff of dreams for most of us. But now, in 2023, Synclavier are back with the Regen!

Synclavier has very kindly loaned us a unit to take a look at, so why don't you join Rob as he unboxes and discovers the new Regen, first-hand, with no prior knowledge! Ask questions, share thoughts and join in the fun!

We appreciate your help! All donations go directly toward making the show run smoothly. If you'd like to help support our streaming platform, you can make a donation via PayPal here:

PV44 (finally) meets the Noise Engineering Basimilus Iteritas Alter!

video upload by XODES

"PV44 was designed a couple of years ago in order to make multiple sounds out of a single percussion synthesizer.

So when Noise Engineering announced they have to discontinue a couple of their modules including BIA, there was no doubt it had to be added to the modules collection!

While exploring the sonic capabilities of a limited combination of modules, this happened.

A Beatstep Pro sends 3 triggers to PV44 via the drums channel. The gate signal from sequencer 1 goes to the last PV44 trigger input, while the CV goes to the modulation input in order to play a synth sound.

SS14, our sequential switch is used to route the audio out of BIA to a modified Pico DSP running a Vertigo DSP card from SSSR thanks to our 2HP BCI add-on Labs when the synth sound is played."

"Soundmit 13: Where Innovation Meets Opportunity for Companies

As the calendar turns to November, music technology and electronic instrument enthusiasts eagerly anticipate the thirteenth edition of Soundmit - the International Synthesizers and Electronic Musical Instruments Expo based in Turin, Italy. Scheduled for November 11-12, 2023, this event has solidified its status as an industry benchmark, offering a valuable platform for companies to showcase their products and reap many advantages.

Soundmit is not just an expo; it's a two-day extravaganza featuring live music performances, instrument exhibitions, engaging showcases, enlightening workshops, and masterclasses led by renowned international experts. Hosted at the Toolbox Co-working venue, located at Via Agostino da Montefeltro 2, Turin, this edition promises to build on the success of previous years, with an impressive lineup of international brands on display, informative talks by event partners, and concerts.

One of the standout features of Soundmit is its unique position as Italy's premier trade fair dedicated to synthesizers and the latest audio and music production technologies. Founded in 2011 as Torino Synth Meeting and rebranded as Soundmit - International Sound Summit in 2017, the event has expanded its scope to cater to a broader audience and participating companies. Soundmit is the platform where synthesizers, pro audio equipment, DJ gear, effects and guitar effects, music production software, DAWs, plugins, and studio gear converge to create an immersive experience for attendees.

Over the years, Soundmit has cultivated valuable collaborations with significant media outlets in the industry and established partnerships with esteemed Italian and international institutions. Notable allies include the Italian Trade Agency, Polytechnic of Turin, Polytechnic of Milan, University of Rome Tor Vergata, Dams of the University of Turin, Arduino (the venue for the latest edition), London School of Sound, Audio Developer Conference, SynthFest France, and many more. This year, we proudly announce our new partnership with the AES - Audio Engineering Society, which will bring specialized seminars to enrich the experience for our attendees.

However, the advantages of exhibiting at Soundmit extend beyond partnerships and educational opportunities. Participating companies benefit from:

1. Global Exposure: Soundmit attracts a diverse, international audience of music enthusiasts, professionals, and potential buyers, providing companies with a unique opportunity to showcase their products on a global stage.

2. Networking Opportunities: Connect with industry leaders, fellow exhibitors, and potential collaborators, fostering valuable relationships that can drive future business growth.

3. Product Feedback: Gather real-time feedback from a knowledgeable and passionate community of musicians and producers, helping companies fine-tune their products to meet market demands.

4. Market Insights: Gain firsthand insights into the latest trends and emerging technologies in the music industry, enabling companies to stay ahead of the competition.

5. Brand Visibility: High brand visibility and recognition among a targeted audience of music technology enthusiasts and professionals.

Moreover, Soundmit proudly supports Keychange.eu, a European project committed to creating a more inclusive music industry. By being a signatory to Keychange, Soundmit demonstrates its dedication to professional development for underrepresented talent, a commitment to gender balance, and advocacy for policies that influence positive change in the industry.

In conclusion, Soundmit 13 is not just an event; it's a gateway to unparalleled opportunities for companies in the music technology and electronic instrument sectors.
