Better Spring Reverb! (with more filter features than your filter?) // Bubblesound at Knobcon 2023

video upload by DivKid

"It was great to meet David from Bubblesound at Knobcon 2023. I've been a long time user of his modules and he's consistently made quality modules over the years. The upcoming Spring Reverb module looks at Spring Reverb options in existence and aims to make them better, a fully featured SEM style multimode filter is on the module so you can really shape what's going into the physical spring, changing it's behaviour and sound. There's on board feedback which David is leaning into in this video too for more experimental patching."

All parts here. See the post labels below for more.

A Modular Approach to Eurorack Mixing with BARTENDER & BARBACK // After Later Audio at Knobcon

video upload by DivKid

"Here we have several new modules from After Later Audio from Knobcon 2023. Lenny takes us through Bartender, Barback and Cast Iron which make up a new expandable, modular approach to Eurorack format mixing."

Patch Tuesday | Glistening Arps | Route 4, Delay 1, Generate 3

video upload by Joranalogue Audio Design

"This week on Patch Tuesday: Glistening Arpeggios

Our main sound source is a Generate 3, receiving pitch from a MIDI-to-CV keyboard. Mix 3 is used as a VCA, being modulated by one Contour 1. The two other Contour 1s accentuate the sound by opening the VCA even more. Their inverted signal is sent to the control inputs of Route 4, producing arpeggios.

The extra flavour in this patch comes from Delay 1, clocked by filter 8, resulting in beautiful, lo-fi arps."

Bird-like sequences with bizarre clocks thanks to USTA and FALISTRI

Roland GAIA 2: Every Factory Preset (no talking!)

video upload by Scott's Synth Stuff

"The Roland GAIA 2 has the best set of factory presets I have heard in a long time on a modern synthesizer. Listen to these presets and this synth will sell itself. It did for me."

Full review and comparison posted here.

ISE-NIN by Black Corporation Ambient Performance

video upload by Martin Stürtzer

"The ISE-NIN is a synthesizer 'inspired by' the Roland Jupiter 8. Both sounds in this track are played at the same time using the dual layer mode. The first patch is sequenced by 'Stepic' by Devicemeister. I added effects from Valhalla DSP (Delay & Room).

This machine was kindly borrowed for making this video. No money changed hands and Black Corporation has no say over the content of this video."

Real World Interface by Verbos Electronics - Overview & Demo

video upload by Stazma

"Today I'll be showing you the new Real World Interface by Verbos Electronics.
This is sort of the first contact with the module, trying all the things I thought i could do and listening to different stuff processed throught it.
It's a very interesting and deep module, and there's so many ways to use it that I'll do a second video with a few more patch ideas soon.

Have fun!"

The Real World Interface is a 3 channel external processing module intended for connecting with sound sources outside the system. The channels are oriented as vertical channel strips. The left and right channels have a built-in condenser microphone, preamp, envelope follower with variable decay and gate extractor. In addition to a preamp, envelope follower and gate extractor, the center channel also has an Automatic Gain Control (fixed high ratio compressor), fundamental extractor (tracking lowpass filter), frequency detector and locked oscillator. Internal microphones are useful for introducing electro acoustic room sound into the modular. Envelope followers can be used to have external signal levels effect parameters such as filter cutoff or level for building dynamics processors. Gate extraction allows external sounds such as metronomes, clicks, claps or room sounds to advance sequencers, trigger sounds or initiate other events. The Frequency Detector can extract the pitch of simple monophonic sounds but is also a semi chaotic CV source in the tradition of such modules since their introduction in the 1960’s. The Locked Oscillator plays a sine wave at the same pitch as the input signal.

Multi Rhythmic Patches with Midicake ARP

video upload by midicake

"Using multiple arpeggios on different meters and sequence lengths can make for very interesting results.

In this video, I go through the parameter settings used to create a lazy but rhythmically complex patch. Its varying rhythms make the focal melody constantly shift between different arpeggios/instruments.

Let me know what you think in the comments."
