Cherry Audio Introduces Blue3 Organ

video upload by Cherry Audio

"Blue3 Organ painstakingly simulates every feature, circuit, and, more importantly, every source of imperfection to deliver its authentic sound. GG Audio's Blue3 garnered critical acclaim, and now, under the stewardship of Cherry Audio, Blue3 is back, better than ever, and costs only $49."

Cherry Audio | B3yond Preset Pack for Blue3 Organ

video upload by Cherry Audio

"B3yond Preset Pack for Blue3 Organ by James Dyson, featuring 100 more out-of-this-world presets that showcase how the Cherry Audio effects extend Blue3 beyond the typical tonewheel sound, and take advantage of splits, mod wheel, and aftertouch on compatible MIDI controllers."

via Cherry Audio

"GG Audio's Blue3 tonewheel organ is back, better, and more affordable, with a whole new look from Cherry Audio.

Blue3 is a meticulously modeled — not sampled — virtual instrument that replicates the most famous tonewheel organs in the world: the B-3, C-3, A-100, L-100, CV, and M-3 models. With 31 tonewheel sets accurately capturing variations between vintage instruments, 91 modeled tonewheels with phase synchronization, and authentically emulated scanner vibrato/chorus, Blue3 delivers the iconic, soulful sounds associated with nearly a century of blues, gospel, rock, and jazz classics.

Cherry Audio's Blue3 features a new, beautifully designed user interface with Main, Edit, Cabinet, and Perform sections. And it goes beyond the traditional B3 sound by adding three studio-quality stompbox-style effects: Tape Echo Delay, Reverb with Spring, Plate, and Hall, and a Seven-band Graphic EQ.

Blue3 offers full polyphony for upper, lower, and pedal manuals, a customizable keyboard split function, and handy drawbar utilities including Copy, Swap, Reset, and Randomize. Tones can be further refined with settings for condition, key click, percussion, and multiple overdrive options.

The Cabinet page provides six speaker options and adjustable rotary speed with acceleration and deceleration. The microphone simulation includes spread and distance controls, four mic selections, and click-and-drag placement in an updated UI.

With MIDI mapping and a rich library of over 200 presets covering classic to modern tones, Blue3 is the ultimate package for both stage and studio."

Cherry Audio Wurlybird 140B - a detailed demo and tutorial

video upload by CatSynth TV

"We take a detailed look at the features and presets in the new Wurlybird 140B from Cherry Audio, a recreation of what some consider the best of the Wurlitzer electric pianos, the model 140B. These are far more elusive than the better known 200 series, but our friends at Cherry Audio were able locate one for extensive sampling and modeling for this version, which sounds great and (as an electric piano enthusiast) is a lot of fun to play."

The beautiful & scenic Taconic Parkway in Westchester County, New York

video upload by CatSynth TV

"We take a ride along the beautiful and scenic Taconic Parkway in Westchester County, New York. The Taconic functions as a freeway in the northern suburbs of New York City and one of the main routes connecting north to the state capital in Albany. The highway is designed to be in harmonic with its landscape, sometimes broad and open, sometimes narrower and winder, as the terrain changes.

In this first of multiple videos, we start just north of its junction with the Saw Mill Parkway (as seen in a previous video) and heading north passing NY routes 100 and 133 in Millwood and Chappaqua (where CatSynth creator and host Amanda Chaudhary grew up), crossing the Croton Reservoir on the AMVETS Memorial Bridge, and passing Franklin D Roosevelt State Park. We turn off the Taconic onto the Bear Mountain Parkway, US 202 and NY 35.

The music through most of this video is the track "Taconic Parkway Bridge" off of Amanda Chaudhary's new album January Suborbital Denomination. The track features composer and musician Jerry King on electronic guitars in addition to Amanda on keyboards and synthesizers. You can hear (and purchase) the album at:
https://amandachaudhary.bandcamp.com/...

Synthesizers on "Taconic Parkway Bridge" include:
Arturia Pigments, 2600 V, Synthi V, Delay Brigade
Arturia MiniFreak
Yamaha RX5 vintage drum machine
Cherry Audio Elka-X, GX-80, and Stardust-201 tape delay

Additional music features:
Cherry Audio MemoryMode, Chroma, and Stardust-201
Arturia CMI V
Big Fish Audio Grindhouse (Kontakt)
AudioThing Wires

Stunning DIY VST Controllers by Craigyb

This one is in via Florian Anwander via the Sequencer.de forum.

According to the creator of these controllers, Craigyb:

"So when I was 16 (around 45 years ago) I used to dream of the Arp Quadra. A friend of mine who wasn't a keyboard player, but just wealthy bought one and it was sat in his front room doing nothing unless I could call around after school and have a play on this great synth.

Now I know I could probably afford to buy one, but the wife would kill me quicker than the Russians, so instead I took Cherry Audio's VST of the Quadra and created a physical beast with a PC built in to create sounds.

I then followed that up with a synth that I've never met in real life AFAIK but is also quite legendary, the Elka Synth (again a VST emulation by Cherry Audio).

I'm currently working on the Memory Moog version (MemoryMode by Cherry Audio) and I just need to finish the actual hardware as the software controller is complete."

Further below are a few more creations from Craigyb in a separate thread on the Sequencer.de forum here.

"This is a small collection of some of the real synths and accessories I have built over the last 4 years.

Details of most of the schematics and code can be found on my GitHub page http://github.com/craigyjp

California Highway 49 - Descending into Merced River Vallay

video upload by CatSynth TV

"We drive a short stretch of California Highway 49, the "Golden Chain Highway", as it descends into a deep valley cut by the Merced River (and partially submerged by the eastern end of Lake McClure). The section of road features numerous tight switchbacks before crossing a bridge over the river. This crossing is near the former community of Bagby, which was submerged when Lake McClure was formed.

The original music by Amanda Chaudhary is based around the rupak tal (7-beat) rhythm from Hindustani classical music. Instead of a tabla, we use the Cherry Audio CR-78 drum machine for the tal.

Instrumentation:
Cherry Audio CR-78, Memorymode, and Chroma
AudioModeling SWAM Solo Cello
Arturia MiniBrute 2 analog synth
Arturia Pigments and EFX Fragments
Waterphone from EastWest Stormdrum 2

1. Cherry Audio Chroma: A demo + tutorial of an elusive analog synth - CatSynth TV - Patreon
We take a deep dive into Cherry Audio's new Chroma, a meticulous recreation of the legendary and elusive Rhodes Chroma. It was a polyphonic analog synthesizer that came with some unique features, notably the ability to reconfigure the signal path among its oscillators, filters, and VCAs, opening up a wider range of sound possibilities. Cherry Audio's version combines these features with a modern user interface that allows direct manipulation of the parameters (unlike the original with a single data slider), and adds a full-featured effects section. We go over the expansive feature set of this instrument, showing you how each feature works and how to use them to make your own sounds.

Saw Mill River Parkway (from the NYS Thruway to the Taconic Parkway)

video upload by CatSynth TV

"A ride along the Saw Mill River Parkway in Westchester County on a beautiful autumn day. We exit from the New York State Thruway (I-87 and I-287) onto the northbound Saw Mill. This segment is a narrow winding freeway through some wooded areas of Westchester. We exit in Hawthorne, NY onto the northbound Taconic State Parkway, a highway that we will follow in future videos.

Because this section of the Saw Mill reminds me a bit of California Highway 13 (the Warren Freeway) in the Oakland Hills, we are bringing back the music from our CA 13 video along with some changes and updates. The music is in 13/8 meter.

Instruments featured include:
Tabla from EastWest Ra, with MOK Filtryg dual filter
Arturia Wurli V and Buchla Easel V
Sequential Prophet 12
Cherry Audio GX-80 and Sines
Crank Sturgeon Pocket Gamelan
Arturia MiniBrute

♫ Jamming With a Bunch of Synths ♫ ----- (79)

video upload by Bata

"This jam is a little weird. My phone was on low battery which made the video slightly glitchy. I was a bit distracted during this recording so it's maybe a bit more boring than usual. There is also a couple mysterious audio drop outs near the end of the video. I didn't notice these prior to uploading so it's possible something went wrong when combining the audio and video files or something.

Cherry Audio Moog Series III VST Spotted

This one was spotted and sent in via electraumatisme.

Note the Cherry labels at the bottom of each module. It looks like Cherry/MRB

You can see it for yourself at 24:04 in this video.

Update: according to Atomic Shadow this actually appears to be the currently availabile VM900 Collection.

You can find videos dating back to 2021 here, intro video here. I'm not finding any videos mentioning the VM900 after 2021.

If anyone knows otherwise, feel free to leave a comment.

Update2 via Robert Saint John in the comments: "[Atomic Shadow] is correct, this is simply the Cherry Audio/MRB bundle of VM900 modules for Cherry Audio’s Voltage Modular platform, released in October 2021. We have not announced any plans to release this as a standalone or VST instrument"
