But what is it, you ask? 🎻🎼 It’s a centuries-old musical theme that’s been reimagined countless times across history—Baroque, Classical, and even modern interpretations. 🌍 In the Canary Islands, it’s a cultural gem that finds its way into traditional music too. I couldn't resist giving it a retro-futuristic, neon-drenched twist! ⚡️💿

"Today I am exploring the bitRanger, a collaboration between Casper Electronics and Bastl Instruments. It is a patchable analog logic synthesizer that allows for the creation of a wide range of sounds, from drones to arpeggios, through its unique patching system.

The bitRanger is processed through the Cosmos ‘Drifting Memory Station,' a unique (and awesome!) asynchronous multitrack looper/delay by Soma Laboratory.

This performance was recorded live:, and lightly mastered in Pro Tools. This is a long one, with very minimal editing: feel free to skip around using the chapters below!

"Over 25 years old, the Korg Z1 is a digital synthesizer released by Korg in 1997. The Z1 built upon the foundation set by the monophonic Prophecy released two years prior by offering 12-note polyphony and featuring expanded oscillator options, a polyphonic arpeggiator and an XY touchpad for enhanced performance interaction. It was the world's first multitimbral physical modelling synthesizer.

"Early 1970s ARP Odyssey MK1 model 2800, fully serviced and calibrated. This Odyssey features the super fat sounding (12db, 2-pole) 4023 VCF filter module. The synth is far from perfect cosmetically, but looks perfectly vintage in all of the best ways. Just missing a few slider caps and the ARP serial number badge has been removed years ago."
