"Amazing reissue of a rare classic. I bought it a few months ago, somewhat on impulse, and it hasn't found its way into my setup. It is in immaculate, like-new condition without a single blemish and everything works as new. I'm very particular about my gear and always handle it carefully and take good care of it. The unit has always been stored, covered when not in use, in a smoke/pet free climate controlled studio.

This thing is built like a tank (very solid and heavy), has great connectivity options and, most importantly, sounds incredible!"

"This Eminent / Arp String Ensemble synthesizer is in beautiful shape except for a small chunk in the wood in the back. Other than that, it's absolutely beautiful. It includes the original manual, the glass music stand, and the case. It's in perfect working condition, and sounds beautiful."

Roland MC-500 MicroComposer w/ Extras

"The Original Roland MC500 MicroComposer is a professional-grade digital sequencer made by Roland. With five channels and MIDI I/O ports, this sequencer allows for precise control of various musical instruments and gear. Perfect for creating intricate music compositions, the Roland MC500 is a reliable and versatile tool for musicians and producers looking to enhance their creative process.

Personally, This machine has been the perfect hardware sequencer for my solo gigs and even backup for a duo. It's reliable and simple. It takes no time to set up. I've invested many hours of drum and bass programming into the many songs included on the diskettes (see the list of songs). All original documentation is included. Even though it only has 5 tracks (1 rhythm and 4 music) it easily manages your midi-controlled devices such as stage lights, Patch changes on your guitar's effects pedal, and of course your sound modules. Included is the Roland Rhythm Library, a source of many complex drum patterns of all genres you can employ into your sequences."

"Quick demo of this pretty rare Japanese drum machine."
video upload by Senti mental

"Demo of the Hillwood Super Variation, a Drum Machine fro around 1977-79. Made by a Japanese company who apparently was a supplier for Roland until they decided to start their own product line in the market. Not much info around. The cool feature of the Super Variation is the metal bar on top, that allows you to switch the machine on and off. Has also quite slow rhythm speed. Other than slight EQ-boosting on the low end frequencies, no processing. Best listened to on good headphones or decent stereo equipment. Filmed on Fuji-XE2 with 4/9cm Leitz Elmar lens."

This is only the second post to feature a Hillwood HR-2.

Steda Electronics SR-909 quick jam (Roland TR-909 replica)

video upload by Juicythedj

"The SR-909 is an exact replica of the classic Roland TR-909. It comes as a complete kit with enclosure, bare boards and all electronics and rare components included. The boards are based exactly on the original schematics and the machine is running the original V4 firmware.

The build itself was quite a ride, but the guys from Steda Electronics were very helpful!"

Behringer 2-XM // First Look review and demo

video upload by Starsky Carr

"Here it is... the Behringer 2-XM their take on the Oberheim 2-Voice It's got 2 SEM style modules/clones plus CV connections and MIDI.

This is a quick runthrough - it only arrived yesterday so I'm just trying to give a flavour of what it sounds like and how it works.

Pre-empting questions about MIDI control... the knobs don't send or receive MIDI and no there's no patch saving :)"

Bad Gear - SERUM for OLD PEOPLE

video upload by AudioPilz

"Welcome to Bad Gear, the show about the world’s most-hated audio tools. In times like these when normal people try to steer clear of questionable spending habits, true synth nerds are still stockpiling esoteric Eurorack modules, vintage restoration projects and overpriced VST plugins in a box.

Speaking of which, today we are going to talk about the Waldorf Iridium range. While young producers with an actual history of releasing music are currently benchmarking a Serum 2 torrent, these futurist top shelf instruments based on German technology seem to be the last missing piece in every middle-aged synthesist collection before their careers are destined to take off.
