Original Demo Video for the $60k in 1973 Yamaha GX-1 Synthesizer

video upload by Vibseek

"The Yamaha GX-1 costs as much as a car and weighs almost 951 kg. Owning one isn’t realistic for most producers, but making music with sounds from it should be.

At Vibseek, we’re building a way for producers to access rare, expensive gear without needing to buy it. Because creativity shouldn’t be limited by what’s in your studio."

Additional NOISEBUG Listings

"The ARP Odyssey was an analog synthesizer originally produced in 1972 by the American manufacturer ARP Instruments, Inc. that quickly garnered a faithful following among musicians. Well respected for its high value, ease to play and portability, the ARP Odyssey had undergone several improvements during its history and continued to be a long-seller until manufacturing stopped in 1981 due to economic hardships and the digital surge. Loved by a wide range of musicians as a historical classic, its sound can be heard on numerous classic songs.

Now, KORG has brought back the ARP Odyssey for today. With the advisory assistance of David Friend, the co-founder of ARP Instruments, KORG has completely reproduced the original circuitry for artists looking to recreate classic sounds and explore new ones. Together the engineers at KORG and Arp were able to nail the sound and feel of the original. Every detail has been carefully considered to stay true to the quality of the original, down to the sophisticated semi-hard case.

The legendary ARP sound is loved to this day. Long stopped, the wheels of history have again begun to move."

Additional SYNTH CITY Listings

"Ah the 80s... the era when synth manufacturers decided we only need one knob. Despite the lack of immediate control over parameters (unless you had the PG-300 or some other modern 3rd party controller) the Alpha Juno series are great sounding synth and often get over looked due to their interface. Single DCO (Digitally Controlled analog Oscillator) with a sub-oscillator and noise through an analog lowpass filter with non-resonant highpass filter, ADSR envelope with chorus.

Tested in great working condition, just showing average cosmetic wear. Includes 2-prong AC power cable."
