Rare USSR synthesizer restored by Alex Taber!

It was made in USSR in 1985 at Luberetskiy Military Radioplant "Rodina" near Moscow.

ALISA synthesizers were made especially for experimental electronic music, creating of sound effects in soviet cinema and scientific acoustic researches. This unique instrument has warm, aggressive and absolutely original analog sound!

The synthesizer has 1 OSC with 4 wave forms, ADSR , filter, various modulations, vibrato and portamento effects.

OSCILLATOR: tune; octave +1/+2; portamento; wave forms: triangle, saw, square, odd harmonics; frequency modulation (for all 4 waveforms); impulse-width modulation (for square wave form) with impulse width and depth controls; harmonics (for odd harmonics wave form). You can use individual OSC waveforms (triangle, saw, square, odd harmonics) or mix them together to get unique sounds!

LFO: on/off modulation switch, two waveforms (triangle, square), modulation rate, modulation rate coarse switch - 1Hz/10Hz.

FILTER: cutoff, resonance, vibrato (filter modulation), ADSR, switch between filter control- keyboard or contour OSC (ADSR). The synths filter due to it`s original architecture can be used as additional oscillator when filter`s resonance knob in self-oscillaltion position and it sounds really weird and interesting!

AMPLIFIER: ADSR, main volume, on/off synthesizer."

I just bought this for myself for Xmas but I don't need it. I have over 20 other synths. I just never had this one and wanted to check it out. It's awesome. Stack multiple sounds at once, multiple filter cut offs, the MS20 low pass and high pass filters in an awesome joystick, aftertouch, and the best cross mod ever. Everything works great. Just got it from a shop from Japan. Comes with the original Japanese manual and a hard case. It works perfect with a Kenton Pro Solo too so you can easily use it with your midi gear if you want to do that. Tons of jacks on the back give it even more potential. One of the nicest ones you will find and now it's in the states. It uses Japanese power so you should use a power converter. They're very cheap. Do not use this synth in the US without a converter."

Oberheim Matrix 12 Multi Patch

"Couldn't resist a custom Multi Patch for the marvelous Oberheim Matrix 12.

Each of the 12 voices can have a different single patch loaded and be controlled by a zone on the keyboard or a midi channel.

In this instance, I made three patches and layered two on the right of the keyboard with five voices assigned to each of those two patches. The final two voices are assigned to the left of the keyboard and the voices are then panned around the stereo field.

There's subtle amounts of FM, lag processing, noise modulation etc that add up to give a really big sound.

This is a really stunning synth, especially for 1985!"
