"We welcomed Torso Electronics to SchneidersLaden for a hands-on workshop with their S4 Sampler and T1 Sequencer in early 2026 - here is a video documentation of the event. A great session for anyone interested in synthesis, sound design, sequencing and creative electronic music tools.

The Torso Electronics S4 is a unique instrument blending tape-style workflows with modern granular synthesis. The Torso T1 combines popular generative sequencers like Euclidean sequences, Turing machines with arpeggiators, chord generators and rounds everything off with extensive random functions. Both are highly innovative and very fun to play!"

"SkyWave is what happens when you combine a versatile oscillator core with 4 waveshapes, 4 ringmodulators and a sequential switch going at audio rates. The result is an ultra-capable module that delivers interesting complex tones that you simply can't get with just a regular VCO. The built-in normalisations are all accesible by patching up the module differently (resulting in even richer timbres). The expander Scaffold adds direct control over each segment and spits out a subdivided clock which can be used for whatever you want!

SynBe is a monophonic bass synthesizer inspired by a 1975 Japanese Synth Bass.

I had wanted one for a long time, but finding one is difficult. Rather than wait for the right unit to appear, I started with what was still available: surviving technical documentation, published circuit information, material from related instruments, and other technical references.

Some sections are well documented. Others are incomplete. Where the original circuit cannot be fully determined, SynBe uses the available evidence, related designs, conventional modelling techniques, and listening tests.

Most of my previous reconstruction projects started with an instrument sitting in front of me.

SynBe did not.

The reconstruction began with surviving technical documentation and circuit information. I also studied material from contemporary and related instruments where the available information was incomplete.

The signal path was reconstructed section by section, from the oscillator and waveform circuitry through the Traveler filter and VCA.

"An electronica piece where phrases from the Game Boy Advance and TENORI-ON intertwine.

This piece was created with the YAMAHA TENORI-ON, Game Boy Advance running FMS, and OP-1 field.

On the TENORI-ON, a sequence is looped while the phrase is occasionally changed. The output is processed through the MOOD MKII with delay while micro loops are layered over the sound.

On the OP-1 field, an electric piano sound is looped using the ENDLESS sequencer and processed with reverb through the blueSky.

On the Game Boy Advance, rhythms and phrases are played using FMS."

All the synth sounds come from the RND, and the drums are played through the S-4.

By feeding the RND’s sound into the S-4 and applying granular effects in real time, the phrases sound even more dazzling!
It’s also convenient that I can power the RND directly from the S-4 via USB and sync MIDI between them!"

Sequential Fourm factory preset demo Bank 1

"I'm playing my new Sequential Fourm analog synthesizer, recorded the video with a Samsung S24 Ultra in HDR/10bit 4K 60Fps, recorded the analog output of the synthesizer with my Yamaha MG16 XU mixer/AD/DA converter, recording with the "pw" (PipeWire) tools on Fedora 44 (Linux) . Then I loaded the results in Davinci Studio (on the same Fedora 44 machine), aligned the tracks, and saved in HDR format for Youtube.

All the music is played by me on that synthesizer, live. No Midi, no edits, no effects, and no other sounds sources."
