Overlooked Module #18: ARC (Analogue Research) D6

video upload by Musical Miscellany & More

"I met the folks from Analogue Research (ARC) at Knobcon 14 (2026) and really liked this 3hp module. It's like a logic module met a random source. The D6 is basically the electronic equivalent of a die roll.

"ARC’s D6 is a 3hp pseudorandom logic generator that models rolling a six sided die. When a pulse is sent to the 'roll' input, one of the six outputs goes high (approx 6v). This logic high is held until another pulse is sent to 'roll.'

The D6 is a built on 20th century CMOS technology - no code, no firmware, no microcontrollers. Output 3 and 4 have a higher chance of being rolled than outputs 1, 2 and 5, 6. It is possible that the same output is rolled on consecutive pulse inputs, in which case no change to the high logic output will be noted.

Add indeterminacy to your patches, or several D6 can be patched in an analogue computer to automate dice rolling for tabletop roleplaying games like Shadowrun... I guess?"

1 hour chill synth jazz improv on Novation Circuit Tracks

video upload by Synthesaurus Rex

"Yay! Finally, I don't have to play anything by myself anymore! Just press start and stop. And no, it's no masterpiece and very lazy and repetetive, I think it's interesting that every single beat in that whole hour is unique and different from the next - it never repeats. Same goes for the visuals: especially the lava lamp makes it that every single frame in that video also is unique. Although no AI was used in this production, IT was heavily involved: the second track of the NCT plays its notes randomized. So what's the difference between this and using AI? Well, at least I (a human being) gave the NCT a group of notes and chords to play randomly, instead of just typing something into a prompt. Also, it's a test: will a long video like this, playing interchangeable background muzak, perform better than my other stuff? And to the fellow Circuiteers: the patch you are hearing is my attempt at creating some kind of a piano-like sound on the NCT. If you want me to share that, let me know in the comments."

"The Best Way" - Dubby Eurorack Techno Track - 134BPM 🎛️

video upload by Electronisounds Audio

"On December 12th, 2025 - I started an 8- month-long-synthgeek-sidequest of designing and building the TRACKER TRX-12 Desktop DAW. 😲

https://www.electronisounds.com/trx-1...

This massive project absolutely comsumed me, and I have not been making ANY music with Eurorack for over 10 months. 😲😟

TRX-12 V1.2.2 is now extremely polished and creatively inspiring - WAY BEYOND anything I had dreamed of when I started working on it. 💙

I finally feel like I have the freedom to breathe again. 👌

Introducing Loop, an Idea Machine by Polyend

video upload by Polyend

"This is Loop, an 8-track Performance Looper."

Some pics and details via Perfect Circuit

"The Polyend Loop is a complete loop-based audio workstation that brings you 4 independent loopers alongside 4 tracks of sample-based percussion with built-in effects. Each of the 4 loopers offers up to 52 seconds of recording time in mono or stereo with the option for forward, reverse, or ping-pong playback. Add discrete effects to each channel with myriad reverb and delay options, along with classic modulation effects, like chorus, vibrato, phaser, and tape effects; shaper effects give you overdrives, distortions, and other waveshapers, use the panning option for spatialization, and the filter can give you a nice bit of sonic sculpting. Indeed, this is the perfect device to not just sketch ideas, but create an entire album's worth of sonic world-building.
