Synth Museum book NOS 1994

via this auction

"This was produced to celebrate the opening by Bob Moog of what was then the biggest synth museum in the world. The foreword is written by Bob Moog.

Full colour large-format paperback, laminated cover, 118 pages, full of excellent pictures of the great synths in the collection.

As the Museum doesn’t exist any more, it’s highly unlikely that the book will ever be re-printed. I believe I have the last brand-new copies available.

Instruments covered include: ARP Solina, Pro/DGX, Solus, Little Brother, Omni, Omni II, Blue Meanie, 2500, 2600, Sequencer, Odyssey;

Buchla 100, 200, 700;

Who's selling: my name's Peter Forrest. I've been writing about synths, keyboards, effects and recording gear for nearly 20 years now, and I run an internet auction called VEMIA (Vintage Electric Musical Instrument Auctions) which specialises in synths, drum machines, effects, and so on."

Give your Alpha Juno-1 an ARP!

YouTube via TheSynthFreq. music comes in at 3:11.
"Hi! This is a short video of me demonstrating the Roland Alpha Juno-1. Its being controlled with ARP MIDI data from the Yamaha Motif 6 synthesizer. A few days ago, I wanted an authentic ARP effect on my Alpha Juno-1, but since the Juno-1s only have chord memory instead of an arpeg function, I used to have to record note for note into my Yamaha QX-3 through step recording to get a simulated arp for the classic 80s sounding compositions. I found some arp settings on the Yamaha Motif 6 and MIDI'd those messages to Juno-1 using the Juno's own bass patches. So Juno-1/2 owners really can have the best of both worlds, there is chord memory when you need it, for techno or other things, or MIDI it up to a synth that does have an arp setting and MIDI and there you go, a Juno with a vintage synth arp function. Since the Motif 6 is a modern synth, it has a great variety of arp patterns to choose from too, you can choose some plain up & down sequence or some pretty complex ones. I'm sure this is not a new discovery or anything, but still it is so awesome to have the awesome patches of the Juno-1 arp'd! I also play a short little 80s song, that I made up just to show the arp effect and the Juno with some chords from the D-50 and a sparkly lead sound that I made on the JV-880 module. I tend to talk a lot too! Sorry! LOL

Please enjoy :)
