ELKA RHAPSODY 610 String Machine 1974 | HD DEMO

video upload by AnalogAudio1

"(c) 2024 by AnalogAudio1

Demo of the string machine ELKA RHAPSODY from 1974. I played it dry. It can produce warm analog strings in combined with celeste-type sounds. Fully polyphonic, it has splitable keyboard. Heavily used by Tangerine Dream in the 1970s. But also played by Klaus Schulze (Timewind), Jean-Michel Jarre (Equinoxe), Vangelis and others."

KORG DW-6000 - The Jam

video upload by KaysLabs

"Personally I think that the Korg DW-6000 is one of the most underrated synths from the mid-80s, largely due to the fact that the Korg factory presets are absolute garbage.

Here is a set created by AnalogAudio1 which really bring this synth to life. Just added a small amount of hall reverb, otherwise what you hear on the video is exactly what came out of the DW-6000."

SEQUENTIAL SIX-TRAK (1984) with OS UPDATE V 14 | CUSTOM PATCHES | No Talking

video upload by AnalogAudio1

"This video shows the capabilities of the SCI Six-Trak equipped with the latest firmware version 14. The best part is the programmable amount of oscillator detuning in UNISON mode, which can be stored in a patch. This gives much greater control and makes the Six-Trak even greater for big, monophonic sounds. The Six-Trak has a much rawer basic tone than today's analog synths. Raw analog power at its best. It's a kind of differently configured SCI Prophet-600.
_____________________________________________________________________

THE PATCHES IN THIS VIDEO:

There are 100 patches, they will load to 00-99 in the RAM memory on your Six-Trak. As always I aim to create great playable sounds easily translatable to your own Productions or for Live use. I have created basses, arps, leads, pads and my usual styled analog keys too. I hope you enjoy these sounds as much as I enjoyed creating them!

You will receive all the sounds from my video plus extra sounds that are not shown in the video, 100 patches in total. The soundset comes as a sysex file with a patch list and loading instructions (PDF).

Six-Trak OS UPDATE V 14: This sound pack has been specifically programmed to take advantage of the latest firmware version 14. This is a chip that you can buy online and easily install in your Six-Trak (drop in replacement). If your Six-Trak version is lower than 14, the unison sounds will sound slightly different.

The "SIX-TRAK V14 Soundset" soundset costs 20 Euros, payment is via PayPal. To purchase it, send a message to:

analogaudio1@gmx.net

IMPORTANT: NOW KEEP AN EYE ON YOUR SPAM/JUNK FOLDER! I answer within 12 hours. After payment you will get the patches (including a patch list and loading instructions, both as PDF) to your email address.

The patches are royalty free. Use them for your music as you prefer! Buying this soundset you purchase the right to use these sounds in your music, releases and gigs."

QUASIMIDI CARUSO | The Most Impressive Soundscapes | Digital Synthesizer Module 1993

video upload by AnalogAudio1

"(c) 2023 by AnalogAudio1

Demo of the QUASIMIDI CARUSO digital synthesizer module from 1993 - The Most Impressive Soundscapes.

All sounds come from a single QM Caruso played live without additional effects and without any treatment - right from the stereo outputs. The general sound has something magical to it imho. All sounds are factory presets, which I chosed as "the best" of this instrument. Of course there are also a lot of accordion and organ sounds (the organs are not bad either, but not exactly my cup of tea). Some factory presets (mostly pads) are surprisingly good and they don't hide the fact that the Caruso has limited D/A converters, which makes the sound 'lo-fi' in general. It sounds quite nice - what do you think?

The Quasimidi Caruso is not very common outside Germany, very cheap nowadays, it's a good choice if you like lofi digital synth sounds from the early nineties!"

You can find another demo of the Caruso here.

KAWAI TEISCO S-100F | Analog Synthesizer 1979 | Sound Demo (no talking)

video upload by AnalogAudio1

"(c) 2023 by AnalogAudio1

The Kawai (Teisco) S-100F is a great little monophonic analog synth. It only has 1 VCO, but lowpass and highpass filters and some interesting modulation routings! Although it's limited, the basic sound is excellent. It reminds me a bit of the ARP 2600. The VCO has a huge range - very low and very high frequencies are possible. Built like a tank, best quality made in Japan, high quality hardware, easy to repair.

I played the Kawai S-100F with delay effects from Korg SDD-3000 (right channel only). On the left channel you can hear the synth dry."

BÖHM SOLIST-S (Böhmat) Analog Groovebox 1974 | Demonstration

video upload by AnalogAudio1

"The Boehm (Dr. Böhm) Böhmat Solist-S Compact is an analog rhythm box / accompaniment from 1974 made in (western) Germany. Great analog sound! Completely analog sound generation, not programmable. But the rhythms and different arpeggios are combinable!

I played it partly with delay (right channel only) and reverb effects (Korg SDD-3000 and Lexicon MPX-500)."

This appears to be the first 1974 model featured on the site. You can find models from 1972 and 1973 in previous posts here.

ROLAND SH-09 Analog Synthesizer 1979 | HD DEMO

video upload by AnalogAudio1

"(c) 2022 by AnalogAudio1

The Roland SH-09 is a great little monophonic analog synth. With only 1 oscillator, a wide range of cool sounds are possible! Quite simple design, but the basic sound is excellent: the fast envelope, the PWM in combination with the sub oscillator makes that 'magic Roland analog sound' happen.

Quite interesting features as S&H, noise generator, 24 dB filter, ADSR, external signal input (with its own input level slider). The sound architecture is very similar to its successor SH-101, but the SH-09 sounds more like the earlier Roland gear from the 70ies. It really shines when controlled by a sequencer, it has some fantastic percussive sounds. Built like a tank, high quality hardware, easy to repair.

I played the Roland SH-09 with reverb effects from the Lexicon MPX-500 (in the intro) and delay effects from the Korg SDD-3000 (right channel only). On the left channel you can hear the synth dry.

At 3:15 it gets groovy with the Roland TR-606! Enjoy..."

WERSI BASS SYNTHESIZER AP-6 | Analog Synthesizer 1977 | HD DEMO

video by AnalogAudio1

"(c) 2021 by AnalogAudio1

Lexicon MPX500 for reverb effects and Korg SDD-3000 delay were used.

The Wersi Bass Synthesizer (Model AP-6) is a weird analog monophonic synthesizer from Germany. Very uncommon controls, uncommon behaviour. You never know if it works as it should. Funny after all. You can combine waveforms with different footages. The filter is a bit of a joke (called Wah-Wah), but the synth has a nice and brave vintage tone. Beware, it's not exactly an acid monster :-)"

WERSI CX2 WERSIMATIC Analog Groove Box 1985 | HD DEMO

video by AnalogAudio1

"(c) 2021 by AnalogAudio1

In the beginning of the video I added a little reverb from a Lexicon MPX500 on the drums, all other sounds came directly dry from the CX2.

Wersi WERSI MATIC CX2 is a programmable rhythm machine / accompaniment from Germany.

The CX2 has preset rhythms and is also programmable. The drums are digital 8-bit samples of real drums. The CX2 It's micro processor controlled, but it has analog sound generation for the accompaniment. A kind of "solina string ensemble" is also on board. Tape interface for storing own patterns onto tape - like on analog synths as Korg Polysix or Roland Juno-60. The Wersi CX2 is the successor of the CX1, which is essentially the same, except the drums. The earlier CX1 has fully analog drum sounds, whereas the CX2 uses digital samples.

The CX2 was also included in Wersi organs of the day. It's similar to the 'Böhm Digital Drums'."

KORG KPR-77 Analog Drum Machine 1982 | HD DEMO

AnalogAudio1

"(c) 2020 by AnalogAudio1

The KORG KPR-77 is a programmable analog rhythm box. DIN sync, TRIG OUT jacks and other nice features. The KPR-77 was the first programmable rhythm machine from Korg. It has a nice sound, especially the snare is similar to the Korg KR-55's snare. It competed with Roland TR-606.

In the intro music you hear the KPR-77 reverb from Lexicon MPX-500."

ROLAND SH-1000 Analog Synthesizer 1973 | HD DEMO

AnalogAudio1

(c) 2020 by AnalogAudio1

I played the Roland SH-100 with reverb effects from the Lexicon MPX-500 and delay effects from the Korg SDD-3000.

The Roland SH-1000 is a monophonic synth with presets, but apart from that it is freely programmable. It has a great analog tone!

YAMAHA DX7 Digital Synthesizer 1983 + JAHN SPX 1.6 Expansion | HD DEMO

AnalogAudio1

"(c) 2020 by AnalogAudio1

Demo of the YAMAHA DX7 digital synthesizer (frequency modulation synthesis) from 1983. I played it along with a Lexicon MPX 500 (reverb).

This DX7 has the JAHN SPX 1.6 installed. This is a great expansion from Germany, which was available in the eighties. It adds some very cool features, such as "double" mode (2 voices per key/8 voice polyphonic) and "quadro" mode (4 voices per key/4 voice polyphonic), which makes the sound really fat. These voices can be detuned like on analog synths, to make fat sounds possible. It also expands the RAM memory to 128 (4 internal banks). The MIDI OUT channel can be set from 1 to 16 (not only MIDI IN).

I bought the new backlit display from Ebay. A DX7 expanded this way sounds excellent! The DX7 MK1 is my favorite DX7 version, I prefer it over the newer DX7II, because it has the better basic sound, is simpler to use, it's better built, and has a better MIDI timing. And you have a real classic, which is heard on tons of eighties hits."

YAMAHA SY-1 Analog Synthesizer 1974 | HD DEMO

AnalogAudio1

"(c) 2020 by AnalogAudio1

I played the YAHAMA SY1 with reverb effects from the Lexicon MPX-500 and delay effects from the Korg SDD-3000.

The Yamaha SY is a synth with presets, which can be altered: Filter settings, waveforms, envelope... it's similar to the Roland SH-2000, but it has the sound characteristics of the early CS series, which is great."

YAMAHA VL 1 | VIRTUAL ACOUSTIC SYNTHESIZER 1993 | FACTORY DEMO SONGS

AnalogAudio1

"(c) 2020 by AnalogAudio1

The internal factory demo songs (1993) of the Yamaha VL1 "Virtual Acoustic Synthesizer".

The Yamaha VL1 was a groundbreaking, pioneering synthesizer with its "virtual acoustic" synthesis in 1993. But it was not a big success, so Yamaha went on with sampling technology for the most part. But still, the Yamaha VL1 and VP1 have their place in history.

Recorded directly from the Yamaha VL1's outputs without any additional effects or eq treatment. Enjoy! Music by YAMAHA Corporation.

Few years ago I demoed the Yamaha VL1, see: [here]

My dream would be to own a Yamaha VP1, but I'm afraid this won't be possible..."

KORG MINIKORG 700S Analog Synthesizer 1974 | HD DEMO |

AnalogAudio1

"I played the Minikorg 700S along with a Lexicon MPX 500 (reverb) and a Korg SDD-3000 (delay effects).

The monophonic Mini-Korg 700S was an expanded version of Korg's first synthesizer, the Mini-Korg 700. It has that awesome "traveler" filter (12 dB highpass and lowpass), 2 VCOs (wavevorm of the VCO 2 is always sawtooth), 1 envelope generator and 1 LFO (sine wave only). It also has noise generator, ring modulator modes and the LFO can also be switched to the filters. It has REPEAT mode, which repeats a note to get a sequencer-like feeling.

The Korg 700s is a serious analog synthesizer with a lot of character. It has a fantastic sound, which can be only compared with the first generation Korgs (Korg 770, 800 DV). The parameters use unconventional terminology (singing level, expand, bright, and so on). The 700s has a very nice tone and it's easy to use. A pleasure to play and to hear.

The MiniKORG 700s was used by Vangelis, Kitaro, Human League, Daniel Miller and others."

KORG 707 Digital Synthesizer 1987 | HD DEMO

AnalogAudio1

"(c) 2020 by AnalogAudio1

Synthesizer demo of the digital "performing synthesizer" Korg 707 from 1987.

I used an original Korg SDD-3000 for delay effects and a Lexicon MPX-500 for reverb effects. In the intro music, the Korg 707 was played along with a Dynacord EC 280 analog delay. All the sounds were programmed by me.

The Korg 707 is a digital synthesizer based on FM (frequency modulation) synthesis. It has a "performance editor" containing parameter sliders which allow sound tweaks in realtime. MIDI multimode. Fat unisono mode, layer and split capabilities. It can be used as a remote keyboard and it can run on batteries. it's capable of some excellent digital sounds!"
