StringQuartet – Free VST/Standalone Strings/Choir-Synthesizer/Stringmachine

Andreas Remshagen

"Download Link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1i8Vc...

A nice virtual version based on the technology of my Strings/Choir-Synth 3.0 Shown in a vid before. I tried to get as close as possible to the original. It also has 12 Oscillators in 4 Groups. Each Group is detunable and has its adjustable Volume. Also the whole Machine has an adjustable Ensemble-Function and a Chorus. A Volume and Filter Envelope is included. Like the Original you can Mix with the Strings/Choir-Knob. The StringQuartet is created with Flowstone and the Demo i played with the PC-Keyboard. Please Remember: This free Software is not perfect as commercial but it is made with love to the Detail and for sharing. Don’t take shared Freeware to make money. Thanks and i hope you have fun with this virtual device."

The DIY Strings/Choir-Synthesizer 3.0 Demo

Andreas Remshagen

"This is the second Modification of my DIY Strings/Choir-Synthesizer
You hear 15 different Sound-examples repeating the same theme
- Please write in the comments which is your favorite!
Each Strings-Group from the four Groups has its own CV-1V/Oct in
and each is connected to one CV-out of a Polyend Poly2. So there is a
4-voice-Polyphony playable over a PC or a MIDI-keyboard. I added a
Gate-in that is connected to the poly2's first gate-out. The gate in drives
a variable Attack-Release for the whole Strings.
one Oscillator in each Strings-Group is tuned one Octave higher
for a larger sound
The Effects i used are a
modified behringer Vintage-Phaser (i'll explain in my next vid) and a
Yamaha FX-500.
the Settings of the FX-500 are:

REV + MOD on,

REV: TYP: DLY, MIX: 50, LVL: +1, L-DLY: 150.0, R-DLY: 300.0, FB: 1, L=R

MOD: TYP: SYM, SPED: 0.7, DEP: 80, MIX: 90, LVL: +5

The Attack-Release cirquit i took from Ray Wilsons Noise-Toaster
The VCA circuit comes from YuSynths site www.yusynth.net
The full description of the Strings-Synth you'll find in the first Strings-Synth
Video"

Psychodelic Analog Session

Andreas Remshagen

"On my way to find the perfect sound i made this Psychodelic-jamsession.
All the Instruments are DIY and they are described in the Videos before. [posted here]
--The Strings/Choir Synth 2.0 (some modifications are made, i show in my

next Vid. It is played over a Polyend-Poly2 in 'Next-mode', so it gives a
4-Voice-Polyphony playable over a Midi-Keyboard

-The analog 4-Voice Groovesynth with Arpeggiator and Akzentuator
-The Bass-Synth with Arpeggiator and Akzentuator"

Jam with Polyend Poly2 and DIY Analog Modular-System

Andreas Remshagen

"I broke my rules and connected my DIY-Analog-Modular System
with the Digital world. I bought a Polyend Poly-2 Midi to Multiple Gate/CV
converter and experimented with different ways driving my Modular-System.
Each Midi-Channel can drive one Synth in its Gate and CV so i could program
a polyphonic example including different analog-Drums, analog groove-Synths,
a String-Synth and a Bass-Synth. I took my old Asus Eee-PC and worked with
the good old Voyetra-Dos Sequencer in a DOS-Box under Windows7 32bit
(DOS only wouldnt work with the Polyend over USB)"

The Arduino-Solina V2.0

Andreas Remshagen

"I experimented with Arduino-Synthmaking and found an Arduino-Solina String-Synth Device running with Midi made by Morocco Dave and Jan Ostman. I made a modification by adding a second Arduino for building a Stereo-Device for a lusher String-Sound.

Yah, i know its not a real solina or a strings synth but i never had build such a Device easier and cheaper. Its a nice Solution for using strings-effects. I only use the clean sound in this video-if you take effects as reverb, delay, phaser and a filter you will get a very nice sound

Here you can download Morocco Daves modified circuit:

The Code you can get ai Morocco Daves Site:

Historic Machines - in Memory of Kraftwerks earlier style

Published on May 16, 2020 Andreas Remshagen

"i made this video in gratitude for the electronic-Band Kraftwerk that has
influenced me since i was a little child.

This song is based to the style of Kraftwerks earlier years. At this time The Members were Ralf Hütter, Florian Schneider, Wolfgang Flür and Karl Bartos.

All Synthesizers and the drums i used are analog, the Delay and the Vocoder are Digital

The Machines in the Video you can find at Dansk Motor & Maskinsamling https://motorsamlingen.dk/
The Bedini Machine i had built for experimenting. Bedini was influenced by Nikola Tesla-so i would see this as historic"

An analog DIY Bass-Synthesizer

Published on Apr 17, 2020 Andreas Remshagen

"I wanted a little Bass-Synth with an easy Chord-Sequencer and the Akzentuator (I had built it in a Synth before). It also should work as a normal Synth for playing Basslines. The filter i used is a moog-clone descriped in YuSynths site. For metallic Bass-sounds i added the Metalizer that is also descriped in YuSynths site. The VCOs that i used here i had built some time ago, they are the Oscillators from Ray Wilsons (MFOS) sound-lab Mini. There are circuits from the components in Videodescriptions from my earlier videos. Its a very compact device with you can create many Variations of Bass-Sounds.

The VP 330 Human-Voice-Filter-Clone Test

Published on Jan 15, 2020 Andreas Remshagen

"I build a Prototype from this Filter using the Circuit in the Link below.
This 7 Filters were built in the famous Roland VP-330 and gave him the
Vintage choir-sounds. Here i used the Filters to test each one
with its own Potentiometer. I didn‘t use the HV-330 compander from Jurgen Haible
that is shown in the right part of the Circuit.
The right combination of each Filter makes the characteristic voice-sound
The Sound-Source ist the Strings-Synth i have shown in a video before.
It feeds the Filters with 12 Sawtooth-Oscillators

12 Oscillators on a Stripeboard in -2 Minutes

Published on Dec 28, 2019 Andreas Remshagen

"A short Video from the Construction of 12 oscillators on a Stripeboard
for a compact version of the Strings-Synth i did show in the Video before. [posted here]
The difference ist that this Device can switch to Rectangle-Waveform.
I planned to make an analog-Choir-Synth from this Device but i haven’t found the right
Filter for it- so is sounds actually like the Strings-Synth. Maybe someone has an idea
for creating choir-sounds?

Analog Synth #4 - Jam with Swing-Function

Published on Jul 11, 2019 Andreas Remshagen

"A nice little electronic Jam-Session containing my diy analog-Sequencer with swing-function.
All performance is live and on diy-modules except the Mixer and the Fx500 Multieffect.

Following diy components are used:

16 Step-Sequencer with swing-function
a 4 x 4 multi-Vco synth with Steiner-VCF, YuSynth Metalizer and
the 1 to 10 step arpeggiator + akzentuator created by myself
The Strings-Synthesizer and The 4xDS-7 Clone with 2 HiHats
Drum-Machine; both shown in another Video in this Channel
The keyboard plays a 4-Wave VCO and a Moog-Clone VCF

The Swing-Function of the Sequencer gives out a "swingy-clock-signal" that synchronizes the Arpeggiator and the Drum-Machine"

Analog Arpeggiator / Groovebox/ Synthbox with Yusynth Metalizer

Published on May 8, 2019 Andreas Remshagen

"A Demonstration of another Synthesizer-Component i`ve made.
It Incudes 4 VCO`s, each contains Square/Sine/Triangle and Saw-Wave. Every Wave can be mixed into the Main Signal.
The VCF is a Steiner-VCF. Two ADSR drives the VCF and the VCA.
The Metalizer can be feeded with each Waveform that is mixed to
the main Signal. The internal clock drives 4 switchable arpeggiator-sections. the arpeggiator can be set from 1 to 10 Steps.
Internal clock and external clock is possible and there is a gate-out. In the arpeggiator-section i added an "Akzentuator", it gives out an adjustable Accent on selectable positions (1-0-1-0; 11-00-11-00; 111-000-111-000 etc) The accent sets the VCF frequency.
The box can also be used as a normal analog-synthesizer with each VCO-CV in and a master/all VCO-CV in

VCO, VCF, VCA and Metalizer-Design comes from Yusynth (www.yusynth.net)
ADSR-Design comes from Rene Schmitz
(www.schmitzbits.de)
The Arpeggiator and the Akzentuator are modified 4017 countercirquits modified by myself"
