Doepfer A-100 & Rhodes MK 1 Improvisation

YouTube Uploaded by Dovinia on Apr 13, 2011

Doepfer A-100 simple sequence & lead patch

YouTube Uploaded by Dovinia on Apr 11, 2011

"Now before you get all worked up by the lack of musical scope in this one, please let me emphasize that this is just a little test run I did to see how the A-100 performs when running a sequence and lead separately on each of my currently two oscillators. I hope this is of some informative interest to those who consider getting into modular synths. Thanks for watching."

Doepfer A-100 improvisation

Doepfer A-100 Mini System Basic Sounds 2

YouTube via Dovinia | February 13, 2011 |

"Here's another little A-100 Mini System demo. This is an all out - everything moulating everything - kind of thing so be warned. If you are faint hearted (or just simply hate unusable modular bleeps and noises) you can go straight to 2:03 where there's a soothing arpeggio to round it all off."

MFOS Weird Sound Generator Controlling Moog Little Phatty

YouTube via Dovinia | January 23, 2011 |

"Here's a little demo of a WSG controlling my Little Phatty. One of the oscillators in the WSG has been patched out to provide a simple gate signal which is then fed to the gate input on the Phatty. I'm using the "Zany" oscillator (or LFO if you like) from voice A. I also added some LED's to show the LFO rates for both voices."

WSG random sounds

Dovinia | January 23, 2011 |

"Some random sound examples from a WSG I'm selling locally. This one has rate LED's for the LFO's and a gate output. The unit is built in a box of the exact same dimensions as Doepfer's Mini Cases."

DOD FX45 Analog Stereo Reverb with Moog Little Phatty

YouTube via Dovinia | December 14, 2010 | 0 likes, 0 dislikes

"This is probably the first and, for the time being, only demo of the rare DOD FX-45 Stereo Reverb pedal anywhere on the web. This bucket brigade based analog reverb was released in 1985 but was quickly discontinued. It differs from other simillar pedals from the same era (notably the Arion SRV-1) in that it employs two MN3011 BBD's instead of just one. In this demo I'm just noodling around rather pathetically on my Little Phatty in order to give you an impression of how the DOD FX-45 actually sounds. As you can hear this is a room type reverb. Or rather a bathroom type reverb... It has a total of 5 delay lines which crash together and creates something not entirely unlike reverb. This weird pedal has it's serious limitations, but it is analog and for some (like me) that makes it very interesting."

Moog Rogue Demo

YouTube via Dovinia | October 23, 2010

"Just fooling around with this versatile little synth. I'm using a Roland RS-09 string synth in the background in some places, and yes I know those are not the correct chords for that laser harp tune by Jarre."

Moog Rogue and Little Phatty polychain

YouTube via Dovinia | October 20, 2010

"I didn't expect this to work at all but thought I'd try it anyway just for fun...
I'm running the midi out from the Phatty through a simple Midi to CV converter which is then connected to the cv and gate inputs on the Rogue. Tracking is not the best as you can hear. I made the two synths sound almost the same in order to avoid more tracking/patch weirdness."

Moog Little Phatty vs Rogue Oscillator Comparison

YouTube via Dovinia | September 12, 2010

"Here's a simple audio-visual comparison between the raw oscillator sounds of two Moog synthesizers from different millenia. Notice how the Phatty is a bit more smooth around the edges while the Rogue is more true to the older / original Moog sound as in for instance the Minimoog Model D."

Yamaha CS-10 feedback and self oscillation sounds

YouTube via Dovinia — April 19, 2010 — "Here are some extreme sounds from the CS-10 just for fun. A lot of interesting sounds can be found by running the output of the synth back into the external in (you'll need to split the signal of course), and by tweaking the resonance to critical positions just before it starts to self oscillate completely. Try this on a VST or a hardware emulation..."

Analog Impressions #031

YouTube via Dovinia
"Roland Juno-6 triggered by a Univox SR-95 (Korg Minipops 7). But that's impossible, right ?! The Minipops doesn't have trigger out or any other connectors apart from line out. So how can this work ? Well the secret is signal splitting and heavy amplification on the one side of the split that runs into the Juno. You also need to try to isolate the treble a bit. This kind of trigger is very unstable, and the arpeggio on the Juno tends to jump all over the place. But that's the charm of a pure analog signal path."
