ESK - Osmose with Digitone or Microwave

video upload by Metunar

"Short Demo with the Expressive E Osmose synthesizer in Midi mode. Not with MPE but with the multi channel setup. No sound from the Osmose, only from the external synth.
I tried different synths (GS Music e7, Tasty Chips GR-1, EMU Virtuoso 2000) together with the Osmose but only with the Elektron Digitone and Waldorf Microwave i got in a short time good results.
Direct recording without mastering.

Custom patches for GS-e7 by synth_nyc (FREE download)

video upload by GS Music

"We proudly present these 64 custom patches for the GS-e7 Analog Polyphonic Synthesizer. The patches were made by synth_nyc and are now available to download from our website for free. In the future, they will be incorporated as factory presets."

"A few words from synth_nyc:
After designing some custom patches for Black Corporation Japan and GForce Software Ltd, I chose to design patches for the e7 because:

1. It sounds great to my ears and offer a complementary tone to all my hardware and software synth 2. It has memory
3. It has full MIDI implementation of all parameters, so I can remote edit it.

In addition; the e7 has some unique features, as far as I can tell, which really make it shine:
* Stereo output / voice spread with pan modulation
* 3 LFOs that can modulate pitch, PW, VCF and VCA
* Very cleverly / musically implemented features such as A/R velocity modulation, envelop KB tracking modulation, LFO rate KB tracking modulation, etc...

Not to say that the discrete VCO, VCF and VCA are a winning combo for a true analog tone.

Please contact GS Music if you need support.

Enjoy!

Mini-bio
synth_nyc first synth was a DX7 (mk1) in the mid-80s. synth_nyc always enjoyed programming sounds on the machine and it never appeared complex or non-intuitive to him. synth_nyc first analog synth was a MKS-50 (with PG-300) where he discovered that you did not need to spend 4 hours to design a great patch! After that, synth_nyc is grateful to have own classic and unique machines from the late 70s to early 90s like a CS-80, a Waldorf Wave, a PPG Wave 2.3, a MemoryMoog LAMM, Prophet 5 Rev2, Rev 3.3 and Prophet VS, OSCar, OB-X, Synthex, Sunsyn, Jupiter-8, Chroma, Hartmann Neuron and Voyetra Eight (the only vintage synth_nyc still owns) and many more! synth_nyc has learnt and enjoyed programming them all. Today synth_nyc is focussing his time on programming analogue renaissance hardware synths -with memories-; as well as new hybrids and new digitals, but also software synths as emulations, virtual modeling have come a long way; especially in the past year or 2 (so have computers) and are letting us enjoy amazing machines for a reasonable price, so close (or better) to the originals and hassle free."

GS Music GS-e7 7-voice Analog Polysynth

video upload by GS Music

You can find additional demos and pics of the GS-e7 in previous posts here.

Available in Blue, Red, and Black.

"We would like to introduce our new Analog Polyphonic Synthesizer, e7. It is a 7-voice, 4-part multitimbral desktop synthesizer, also featuring MIDI polyphonic expression (MPE). This instrument is the result of years of research and development to come up with the first analog polyphonic synthesizer ever made in Argentina.

Signal path
The signal path is completely analog, featuring two VCO per voice, a white noise source, a mixer, a 4-pole low pass VCF and a VCA. The control voltages are digitally generated, including 3 LFO, 2 ADSR-type envelope generators. Finally, it has a stereo digital effects processor with Delay and Chorus. LFO 1, LFO2 and the delay can be synced with the MIDI clock using a user selectable subdivision.

Oscillators
It features two VCO plus sub oscillator per voice. Each oscillator has 3 different waveforms: triangle, sawtooth and saw-tri (triangle+sawtooth). There is a fine-tuning adjustment and a transpose option, allowing tune adjustment up to +/- 2 octaves. Tuning can also be modulated with any of the three LFOs and EG1.
Furthermore, each oscillator has a pulse wave that can be turned on or off, which is mixed with the other waveforms. Its pulse width can be modulated with LFO1 and/or EG1. Oscillators can be hard synced.
The autotuning algorithm takes about 2 seconds to complete. All the voices are tuned in parallel, making a lot faster than usual.

Mixer
The mixer can control the levels and mix the two oscillators, the suboscillators and the white noise or the external input.

Filter
The filter is a 4-pole ladder-type low-pass filter with resonance control. It can be modulated with EG1, this modulation an also be affected by velocity. It can also be modulated with any of the 3 LFOs. On the other hand, it features keyboard tracking and it can be controlled by the modulation wheel or aftertouch.

Chorus
There are two types of chorus available: basic and ensemble. The Basic algorithm is subtle and allows you to add some spatiality tothe resulting sound, while the Ensemble algorithm adds a different dimension to the sound, simulating a string or vocal ensemble. The Basic algorithm uses two delay lines, while the Ensemble uses 4 delay lines. Each delay line has its own internal LFO. There are controls for rate, depth and mix.

Delay
The delay can be a stereo delay or a ping pong delay, with its maximum delay time being as long as 1.35s. It is possible to sync the delay to the MIDI clock too. If the delay is synced, the delay time knob controls the time division instead of the delay time. There are controls for the feedback and mix too.

LFOs
There are three LFOs available. LFO 1 and 2 have 5 waveshapes: triangle, ramp up, ramp down, square and random with sample and hold. LFO 3 has the first 4 waveforms and is activated with the modulation wheel and/or aftertouch.
LFO frequencies go from 0.1Hz to 100Hz. Additionally, LFO 1 and 2 have different modes:
Monophonic: The LFO is in phase for all of the voices.
Polyphonic: The LFO is generated to a slightly different frequency for all of the keys pressed. This allows an interaction of the phases, generating more complex modulations.
Keyboard Tracking (KB Tracking): The LFO frequency varies according to the note played following the chromatic scale.
Keyboard Sync (KB Sync): The LFO is restarted when a key is pressed. Each voice has its independent LFO.
Clock Sync: The frequency of the LFO is synced to the MIDI clock signal. The e7 automatically detects the BPM of the clock signal. It can be configured to generate different rhythmic figures.
Keyboard + Clock Sync: The LFO frequency will be a sub-division of the MIDI clock signal. Also, the LFO will be restarted each time a key is pressed.

Envelope generators
There are two ADSR-type envelope generators. There are controls for attack, decay, sustain and release. Attack and release can be modified by velocity and the envelope times have keyboard tracking.

Stereo
By default, the voices have a stereo panning from left to right. By adjusting the stereo spread, it is possible to set all voices to the center or set them from right to left. There is also a stereo motion option that allows this stereo spread to be adjusted by an LFO.

Presets
The synth can store up to 640 presets, 128 of them being multitimbral presets.

Multitimbral
The synth can have up to 4 multitimbral parts. Each part has it complete sound configuration, assignable MIDI channel, keyboard zone, velocity zone, transpose setting and MIDI filter. Additionally, each part can have different voice assignments and/or share some voices.

MIDI Polyphonic expression
MIDI Polyphonic expression is supported by the GS-e7. It was tested using GeoShred, allowing independent pitch control and cutoff for each voice."

video upload by GS Music

"We finally assembled and turned on the first unit of the GS e7.
We were so excited that we hadn't realized that the camera was slightly ou of focus.
There are still some details to keep on working and we are starting the production for the first pre-order batch to be delivered in a few weeks.
We will make more extensive demos once we finish the first batch."

Improvisation with Apollo synthesizer by Van Shake

video by GS Music

"Amazing improvisation by Van Shake using our new Apollo Synthesizer."

"GS Apollo is an analog monophonic synthesizer featuring subtractive synthesis. The sound generation is entirely analog. It has two voltage controlled oscillators (VCO), a mixer, a voltage controlled filter and a voltage controlled amplifier (VCA). The control signals are digitally generated by a microcontroller, which is capable of processing three low frequency oscillators (LFO) and two ADSR envelopes (EG). It also features a digital effects processor with chorus ensemble and delay. At the end of the signal path, the analog signal and the processed signal are mixed by an analog mixer."

Sintetizador Apollo - Modo monofonico/duofonico

GS Music

"This time we show you how to switch between the different monophonic and duophonic modes of the new Apollo synthesizer.

To access the mode selection, keep the LFO1 button pressed until three of the LFO LEDs start to flash.
Then, with the button of oscillator 2 we can toggle between the different modes.
The Apollo synthesizer has 4 modes detailed below:
1- Monophonic, single trigger: it is a monophonic mode. Envelopes will only reset when no note is active and a new note is triggered again.
2- Monophonic, multi trigger: it is a monophonic mode. Envelopes will reset with each note, even if another was previously active.
3- Duophonic 1: it is a duophonic mode. When a single note is active, both oscillators will respond to that note. When two notes are active, Oscillator 1 will respond to the lowest and Oscillator 2 to the last. As notes are released and one is active, both oscillators will respond to the only note that was left active.
4- Duophonic 2: it is a duophonic mode similar to duophonic 1 but when releasing notes until only one is active, the oscillators will respond to the last two notes.
Once selected, it must be confirmed by pressing the LFO1 button twice."
