Ode to Shruthi-1

Uploaded on Dec 27, 2011 MoShang

"A little synthpop ditty made entirely with the kit-built Shruthi-1 by Mutable Instruments. All patches are Shruthi-1 presets - I've added eq, reverb and delay to taste. http://mutable-instruments.net/shruthi1

Note this one is from 2011. Apparently I missed it, so here it is. MoShang is the man behind Groovesizer.

SampleSimon for Eurorack by MoShang

Published on Mar 23, 2018 MoShang

"12-Bit, 6 Voice Sampler, SD Recorder, 64 Step Sequencer for Eurorack. In this vid, the SampleSimon is playing the 909 drum sounds and sending a gate signal out to a Moog Mother32 that plays the bass line. The Mother is sending an LFO back to the SampleSimon that modulates first the swing amount, and later the sequence length."

"these will be sold built. The timeline is still a wip, but fairly soon (weeks) for the first small beta run, and the full release once we've had time to respond to feedback from the beta."

Groovesizer Alpha Videos

Groovesizer Alpha - first taster

Published on Jun 23, 2013 MoShang·42 videos

"The Groovesizer is an arduino-based DIY 32-step sequencer / synth - the project is based around a custom PCB that in it current form features 4 rows of 8 tactile switches and leds - the final version will add a fifth row of buttons and leds dedicated to control functions. It features an embedded hackduino, an 8-bit DAC option, an LM386 amp output, MIDI in/out/sync and is configurable to work with some of the most popular existing arduino audio projects. Firmware can be updated from the arduino IDE, either via an AVR ISP programmer, or by flashing the chip on an arduino board and swapping it out. Furthest along in its development is the Alpha firmware which features a 3 oscillator monosynth. Other firmware will include the Bravo which borrows code from the Bleeplabs Bleepdrum https://www.sparkfun.com/products/11606 , the Charlie, based around the Illutron 4-voice wavetable synth http://www.instructables.com/id/Turn-your-Arduino-into-a-4-voice-wavetable-synth-w/, and the Delta, based on the original Groovesizer with the auduino synth engine http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9zsxWfsHDr4
The complete kit with PCB and all components will be sold for around US$100 - follow the progress on this project at http://groovesizer.com"

Published on May 13, 2014 MoShang·64 videos

"Jamming with a Groovesizer MB with Golf firmware (32-step, 12-track MIDI drum sequencer) and a synced Groovesizer RED. The Golf is triggering drum sounds on the Zoom MRT-3, as well as sending MIDI clock and pattern trigger messages to the RED. Pressing F1 on the Golf repeats a step, whilst F2 reverses playback for as long as it's held."

Groovesizer Alpha (proto) - new hardware

Published on Jul 23, 2013 MoShang·44 videos

"Follow the progress on the project at http://groovesizer.com
The Groovesizer is a 32-step midi sequencer and 8-bit synth that will be available as a DIY kit in September 2013.
The new PCB has an extra row of buttons for control functions, and (unlike the previous PCB) doesn't have to be purpose built for a particular Groovesizer firmware. Instead, the hardware setup for a particular firmware is selectable via jumpers (top left)."

Groovesizer TB2 - All Twelve Bits [DEMO]

Published on Dec 10, 2014 MoShang

"A demo of the TB2 synthesizer shield for the Arduino Due, available now from http://groovesizer.com

All sounds from the TB2 - hear the unprocessed component tracks at https://soundcloud.com/groovesizer/tb...

The TB2 is a 4 voice paraphonic wavetable synth shield for the Arduino Due development board. The TB2 features 2 oscillators per voice, an ADSR envelope, LFO, digital filter, arpeggiator, as well as a 16-step sequencer. For sound generation, the TB2 makes use of the pair of 12-bit DACs built into the Arduino Due’s 32 bit ARM processor. The TB2 uses an SD card for storing patches and sequences, and it also allows the user to load single cycle waveshapes for the two oscillators and the LFO.

Please Note – unlike our other kits which are self contained, the TB2 requires the additional purchase of an Arduino Due."

Groovesizer Delta V111

Published on Dec 28, 2013 MoShang·57 videos

"Kits and enclosure are available from http://groovesizer.com
A demo of the Delta firmware for the Groovesizer. Drums are from Cakewalk Sonar and a touch of reverb, delay, and stereo chorus have been added.
With the exception of a couple of hitches, it was pretty straightforward to replace the DAC-based sound engine of the Groovesizer Alpha with the PWM-based granular one of Peter Knight's Auduino. It positively drips with character and squelchy goodness. All the sequencer features of the Alpha firmware have been retained. These include:
- 32 step sequencer
- step ties, rests, and slides
- MIDI sync (in and out)
- 112 save locations for patterns
- saved patterns are chainable
- record movements of pot 1 with the option to send recorded automation out as MIDI cc data
- random pattern creation (chromatic, major, minor, pentatonic)
- accents"
