"Retro Mechanical Labs Hyde/Electron Fuzz Custom Combo unit. This one is in an oiled walnut case, and I had RML add 1/4” I/O for the filter as well as the EFC and LFO out. It can be connected with either the standard Eurorack 1/8” or the 1/4” on the back. It’s a beautiful thing, works perfectly and was purchased new direct from Retro Mechanical Labs."

Retro Mechanical Labs: Beauty Through Pain

video upload by Richard DeHove

"This is a bit rough and I clearly don't know the controls too well. But I'm sure you know the excitement of getting a new bit of gear and hearing things fall out of it even though you're just fumbling about? It seemed a shame to let that pass by, so here it is: early days with the 'Retro Mechanical Labs Hyde Distortion Filter and Electron Fuzz Custom CV Combo' - and yes, that's its actual name. The DB-01 output is split with one side going into the filter and the other into the fuzz. Left and right then go into separate sides of the Boss RV-6 reverb pedal. There's some limiting to avoid bad surprises but otherwise the audio is raw. That means there's some clicks, pops, squeals and grinding. I hope you find as much beauty in this raw mess of pain as I did.

Magnus Et Magnus With HP Oscillators Beats And Drones

Published on Oct 3, 2018 NoizeHack

"Noise Engineering let me borrow their two new 5U format modules, The Basimilus Iteritas Magnus and Manis Iteritas Magnus, so I made this video with them. I ran them through the Retro Mechanical Labs Jekyl & Hyde dual filter/distortion. The two HP 200CD Oscillators are vacuum tube sine oscillators used for drones and sirens run through the Vermona Retroverb Lancet."

Retro Mechanical Labs Hyde Distortion Filter Eurorack Version

Published on Apr 4, 2017 Perfect Circuit Audio

"Some drones, distortions and squeaks from the Retro Mechanical Labs Hyde Distortion Filter. The Hyde has the Make Noise 0-Coast as its input and is also under CV control from the 0-Coast as well as its internal LFO.

The Hyde Distortion Filter, from Retro Mechanical Labs, has now been equipped with 3.5mm jacks for ease of use with Eurorack modular synthesizers. It is a standalone desktop unit meant to be patched to all sorts of other gear using 3.5mm jacks. This euro version incorporates five difference CV inputs to control almost any knob in the filter. Each CV input has a corresponding LED for visual feedback of the signal patched in. The Hyde Distortion filter is perfect for creating dark textures and soundscapes. Tune the resonant feedback to match your harmonic droning or wall of noise. Use two boxes to create deep stereo textures.

Retro Mechanical Labs Electron Fuzz Eurorack Version Distorting Drums

Published on Apr 4, 2017 Perfect Circuit Audio

"Running eurorack drums through the Retro Mechanical Labs Electron Fuzz with eurorack compatible 3.5mm CV input jacks. The Electron Fuzz is especially good at generating screams above your drums with the feedback oscillation. This patch uses envelopes from the Galilean Moons and then an LFO from Peaks to modulate different setting on the Electron pedal. The drums pattern is created by the Noise Engineering Numeric Repetitor, and the sounds are from the Leploop Cassa, Audio Damage Boomtschak, and SSF Quantum Rainbow through the Hexinverter Galilean Moons.

The ever popular Electron Fuzz Custom has now been adapted with 3.5mm CV inputs for use with Eurorack synthesizers. The size has been slightly scaled down, to work more efficiently on a desktop. It provides CV control over the Hurt, Pain, Feedback Osc, and Distortion out. This beefy distortion can now have even more versatility with its interfacing with modulation signals and Eurorack sound sources."
