Radioaktivnost nuclear stochastic MIDI sequencer

via giorgiosancristoforo.net

"Radioaktivnost is a one-of-a-kind MIDI sequencer for software and hardware synthesizers.

If you are interested like me, in randomness and science (especially nuclear), this little toy may give you many hours of fun.

Radioaktivnost is a 16 step sequencer clocked by radioactive decay.

You can use a real Geiger counter, or – maybe, while you wait yours from ebay – use the internal simulator.

Those who are familiar with analog step sequencers will feel quite at home with Radioaktivnost.

There are 16 steps (you can use 1 to 16 steps) and every step can trigger a note on (0 ~ 127).

You can set the sequence forward, backward, palindrome or random.

You can also listen to the geiger sound and watch the counter and take a measure the old school way:

Start the counter and a stopwatch at the same time and see how many counts you get in 60 seconds.

Available at giorgiosancristoforo.net

Price is 20€"

via MATRIXSYNTH CLASSIFIEDS

"Seventy-nine minutes of electropop, experimental pieces and 'atmospheres' inspired by radioactivity and the Atomic Age. Recorded by Canadian artist The Manitou throughout 2013-14, using a variety of analogue and analogue-modelling synthesizers, drum machines, electronic toys, and found sounds.

~Hello friends! Professor Atom here. Let me take you on a journey through the radioactive wasteland. Awaken your nerve centres with danceable electromagnetic frequencies from the future. 1975, to be exact. I'll enlighten you to the many practical uses for isotopes, and play you a phonograph record of the frenetic sounds produced by uranium 235. We'll take a look at the many benefits of atomic energy, and also the dangers. For with every advancement there are bound to be a few pesky side effects. Tap your foot while the half-life ticks down, or spend a few minutes in front of our new cathode-ray set. I'm sure it's perfectly safe!

Let me show you the many wonders of the Atomic Age! In the vastness of the Sellafield complex, a criticality alarm sounds constantly to let us know we're still safe. Elsewhere, the Atomic City is a desirable location to raise a family ... just pay no mind to the radiation detection shacks. The young ladies out there might seek employment at the Radium Dial: painted dials and painted smiles. Your skin will just glow, girls! Short of another meltdown, we can all look forward to owning our very own robot butlers. Make atomic power your power. For a shinier, better tomorrow: Radioatomic.~

High-quality download via bandcamp in MP3, FLAC and more. Includes a thirty-page PDF booklet with liner notes, lyrics, and track-by-track artwork and instrument lists. Deluxe version includes seven bonus tracks: single edits and alternate mixes."

YouTube Uploaded by KSUinformation on Jun 27, 2011

"At http://www.nuclear.kth.se/radioactiveorchestra/ you can make your own music!
This is a project with the goal to make radiation more understandable. By translating the isotopes different energy levels to sound frequences we can ad another sense to grasp nuclear physics."
