"I have found a midi file that I used here as background (drums, rythmic acoustic guitar and the bass). The rest is played in Live ; there are 2 presets in Guitar bank that you can use to play that famous Fender Stratocaster thru Vox Amp and reverb/chorus/delay effects ; here I tried to reproduce the atmosphere of the sixties, when Hank Marvin played with The Shadows, that famous part. I choose 2 presets : Strato (preset 6 number C6) with insert (blues amp off axis that I modified the volume envelope) and a Velo Muted Strat (preset 6 number C7). And I play with the pitch bender to simulate the vibrato hand applicated by real guitarist !"

"In a first step, I create a pattern with Hydrogen, with a tempo 170 bpm ; I export in wave format this pattern that I Import into Presonus Studio One Artist ; After that I select the different samples from my Alesis Fusion :

- organ Farfiza : sound from Hollow Sound : Farcheeza
- bass : Rickenbacker
- synth lead : this is a mix of 5 samples with vibrato while pressing keys harder : AX80-saws + PolyMoog strings 2 + PolyMoog Vox Humana + Eminent Strings with vibrato + 'Do you know Brass'"

How to make a soft version of Oxygene 2 with minimal equipment : only 2 synths !
All is hand and by ear played .This is a very "light" cover ! I recorded 10 audio tracks with Presonus Studio One, but without automation and I have to add 2 tracks for noises with the Roland SH-101.
I only use Rythmus (by ElektroStudio), Alesis Fusion 8 HD, Roland SH-101, Electro-Harmonix Small Stone (Phaser) and Memory Boy (Tape Delay).
I'm beginner, and not a musician, so ... sorry for bad hand playing and tempo not respected sometimes !

"An musical analyze of Oxygene, track after track, to make a cover with 95% pure analog and 5% digital.

In this first part, I try to reproduce the rythm played in the original part 2 of JMJ's Oxygene, with the Korg MiniPops 7 ; here, I used a standalone free application called Rythmus by ElektroStudio.

Here, you can adjust the volume of each sounds, the pan, the tune, the volume and the global tempo ; 2 presets are used simultaneously : Beguin and Slow Rock.

It is very near from the original, isn't it ?

The second part will show you how to make all noises with Roland SH-101, Roland Juno-6, Electro-Harmonix Memory Boy and Small Stone Phase Shifter.
