Ableton Issues On Vista

I almost didn't post this as it's technically not synth but I figure there are a few Ableton users out there that should know this. I saw this earlier on CDM and now Gearwire. Check out both for details.

Roland TR-808 MIDI Mod

No title link, just two shots of a Roland TR-808 with MIDI mod sent my way via Neuro.

And an Oberheim DSX thrown in for good measure. I always thought the bass drum kicked in New Order's Blue Monday. I always assumed it was a 909 when I first started rediscovering synths. I was completely surprised to find out it was actually the Oberheim DX line, specifically I believe it was the DMX.

MPC 1000 OS Update

Via Gregory Shiff.

"In "MPC land" these days is that a mysterious Japanese guy has created a boot-leg Operating system for it [Akai MPC 1000] that adds many new features. More info can be found at: link or better yet on the MPC forum. Personally I haven't messed with the new OS. I use the MPC live and don't wanna chance instability (the official OS, while not perfect is pretty good)."

BTW do check out Gregory's site for mp3s and more info on his music. That's his MPC 1000 in this shot.
