Frostwave Funk-A-Duck with Kaossilator

YouTube via bigcitymusic
"Here is a demo of the Frostwave Funk-A-Duck filter. It features sweepable low, high and band pass filters as well as an envelope follower with positive and negative envelopes. There are controls for input/output levels, one knob to fade from up, down or "none" envelope, resonance(which can self-oscillate), frequency, and speed of the envelope. It also has a bypass footswitch. This super versatile filter can be used on nearly everything including guitar, bass, drum loops, keyboards; All of them! bigcitymusic.com"

Where Are You? (part 2)

YouTube via stretta. I couldn't find a Part 1, so I'm not sure if Part 2 refers to just the piece or a prior video.
"I'm playing a French Connection controller against a simple looping phrase. If you listen carefully to the phrase, the pulses change vary slightly throughout the composition.

The French Connection is controlling a small collection of modules including a Cwejman VCO-RM2, MMF1, Plan B model 11 and Doepfer VCA. The left hand joystick is controlling various parameters including the frequency of the slave osc of the VCO which is also frequency modulating one of the filters.

Vimeo has a better quality version of this piece, including stereo audio. Unfortunately, this piece is not really mono compatible - all sorts of phase cancelation occurs when youtube collapses the file to stereo.

Synthesized Dreams & Nightmares

"Welcome to Synthesized Dreams + Nightmares, the personal Homepage of Johann H. Stoeten. This Site will focus on Synthesizer-Programming; Sound-Design as well as on the Work of it's Owner. You may freely download Manuals for vintage Synthesizers as well as Samples and some other useful Stuff. Soon some online Discussion-Boards for specific, not yet covered Synthesizers will follow."

The last update listed on the site is from 2003, but do check it out. There's a wealth of synth resources there. It's odd how you run into sites you've never seen before. I found this one when putting up a Sequential Circuits Six-Trak auction on Matrixsynth-b. Be sure to check out the drop down menu on the top left when you get there.

FBT Synther 2000 Teclado Synthesizer

images via this auction

"Vinatge synthesizer, SYNTHER 2000
· Polyphony - monophonic
· Oscillators - 3 VCOs (w/ sawtooth and square waveforms)
· LFO - None Filter - 1 VCF, 3
· Filters Effects - None
· VCA - 1 VCA Keyboard - 37 keys
· Memory - None Control - CV
· Date Produced - 1973

The Synther-2000 (introduced in 1973) was the first attempt from the Italian company FBT Electronica S.P.A. (founded by Bruno Baldoni and Vincio Tanoni in 1963, and mainly dedicated to the production of amplifiers and mix consoles) to introduce itself into the emergent market of synths.

The Synther-2000 is a monophonic synth equipped with three VCOs (each with square and saw-tooth waveform generation) and based on the substractive synthesis method. It has also two simple filter & envelope sections. The filtering section is composed of a single filter with cutoff, a level control for each oscillator, and keyboard control, whilst the envelope control allows three different setups: AD (Attack/Decay), A (single Attack) and an interesting continuous attack (a rudimentary arpeggiator). It is also equipped with a noise generator for oscillators 2 and 3.

The Synther-2000 keyboard has 37 keys, but does not have pitch bend and modulation wheels. Instead, it has a slider for the continuous control of oscillator-1 frequency. In this respect, it does remind one of a Theremin sound. The Synther-2000 also possesses a sweep control that is very similar to the classic portamento effect.

Due to the small number of units made and their limited distribution area, at present it is really difficult to find one of these small pieces of vintage synth."
