Plan B Drummers

YouTube via bigcitymusic http://bigcitymusic.com/
" Plan B offers some alternative modules to your everyday "East Coast" style modules. In this patch we're using a multitude of different modules, including some Cwejman and Analogue Systems. The heart of this patch is the incredible sounding Model 13 Dual Timbral Gate. The M13 is in fact a low pass gate which is basically a cross between a low pass filter and a VCA. This is what gives us the beautiful, drum-like decay to the random pulses. The actual envelope is super short but the vactrols in the circuit ring longer. We're also using some random voltages in here. The Model 24 Heisenberg Generator is basically a sample and hold module, well, two of them really. The bottom section of the M24 allows you to move to the next random voltage when it receives a trigger or gate pulse. The Plan B Model 15 oscillator and the Cwejman VCO-6 are our sounds sources, each having it's frequency modulated at a high rate. This is what gives you the hand slapping sound that a typical hand drum would have. The Plan B Model 17 is also being used to great effect. The Triple Event Timer senses how hight the voltages coming in are. There are three pots to set the threshold, deciding when a pulse is allowed through. We're get more into that later.

Looking for some different sounds? Check out some Plan B stuff."

Apollo - Space Age Theresynth™

YouTube via chamberofsounds
"Get Ready for Space Travel Earthlings
The Apollo is a battery-powered (1-9V), mini-Theresynth™ with 1/4" output, built-in speaker & incredibly spaced-out analog sounds. It's solidly built into a space-age, hand-painted, aluminum case with Moog knobs, high-quality photocell, green LED and rubber feet. I wanted to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the Lunar Landing with it's 60's spaceship stylings. I like how the photocell is beneath the grill. It makes cool sounds when shining a light in different parts of the topThis model is no longer available. See more creations @ chamberofsounds.com"

Me-Tone - Metronome Theresynth™

"Bakelite Beauty! The "Me-tone" Theresynth™ is a super-cool, two-of-a-kind, electronic device. I built two of these into beautiful, 60s' bakelite metronome cases with Moog knobs, high-quality photocell and green LED. They're a sensitive little beasts too - lots of fun to play! If I was able to these cases, I'd definitely build some more! Check out more of my devices @ chamberofsounds.com"

Oberheim DMX Oldschool Hip Hop Classics on Electribe

YouTube via harlemnightsmusic

"Tribute for all ya homeboyz... This time some classic hip hop beats, recreated on my Korg Electribe using Oberheim DMX and DX sounds. As always, no actual records were sampled. All recreated by ear.

The scratch fx were done by stacking some sounds and adding heavy pitch modulation over it, with the ESX ribbon and slider controlling gate and pitch. All synth and bass parts were made on a Roland Juno 106 synthesizer (1984). Again all film shot wile actual recording.

Tracklist:
* The Show - Doug E Fresh & the Get Fresh Crew
* Walk this Way - Run DMC & Aerosmith
(snare: EMU Drumulator, guitar distortion: Roland SE50)

Schala's Theme

YouTube via DORKYBA55ATTACK
"This is an electronic rendition of Schala's Theme from Chrono Trigger.

The Picollo/Flute solo has been replaced with the DVS Guitar Synthesizer, and the string ensemble is created using Daedalus. I used ToonTrack's EZDrummer for the drum parts. The chimes are replaced using custom settings on Daedalus synthesizer."
