ELEKTRONIKA EM-04 Analog Synth String Machine POLY 1985

SN 851121 via this auction

English panel translation below.

"This seems to have appeared in two very different forms. Both have sets of sliders to the left of the keyboard and in three sections behind it; but one is a neater, flatter machine with a carrying handle at the front, while the other has fold-down legs, a little Farfisa-like, and a reverse-color keyboard for the bottom two octaves.

• EM-04 HAS A FOUR MAIN SECTIONS OF CONTROL:

1-st GROUP (left manual) - attack, sustain, bass, violin, alto, string, orchestral, brass
BRASS FILTER - attack, sustain (level, on/off), cutoff, resonance
2-nd GROUP (right manual) - attack, sustain, bass, violin, alto, string, orchestral, brass
MASTER - fine tuning, main volume level, tone (brightness), slalom (pitch slide), hawaii (finger pitch controller).

• There is a one master oscillator in this instrument. Due to this oscillator a possibility of instrument detuning in the process of operation is eliminated.

• Because of split of the manual into 2 sections, the volume of each group may be adjusted.

FILTER GENERATOR IS FOR BRASS SECTION ONLY.

• Connection on the rear panel: Audio OUTPUT with standard 1/4' jack, pedal switch ON/OFF, pedal input on 5-DIN, power wire connection (220/240V), fuse (0,5A) ."

Original Oberheim SEM Module

via this auction

"The SEM is in full working order and good condition considering it's 35 years old. It's a very rare early model with the 1080B board. It allegedly has a slightly different filter sound and envelope but to be honest, I think you'd be hard pushed to tell the difference between this and the later revision."

Roland TB-303 Owned by DJ Mickey "Mixin" Oliver

via this auction

"This machine was owned by legendary DJ Mickey "Mixin" Oliver. He was the first to use this machine in electronic music by making acid tracks. He is also known as one of the creators of House Music. Chicago recently named a street after him for his contributions to Dance music. The London Observer named him one of the ten most influential DJs of all time."

It's not clear if the seller means this specific 303 was owned by DJ Mickey "Mixin" Oliver or he just owned one in general.

Update: according to Wikipedia, the first to use the 303 in house: "The first acid house records were produced in Chicago, Illinois. Phuture, a group founded by Nathan "DJ Pierre" Jones, Earl "Spanky" Smith Jr., and Herbert "Herb J" Jackson, is credited with having been the first to use the TB-303 in the house music context (the instrument appeared as early as 1983 in disco via Alexander Robotnick)."
