Another Ralph Dyck Synth Recovered

"Encouraged by the recovery of his Carson Graham synth, Ralph went in search of another synth he made around the same time for the UBC. Bob Pritchard of the UBC Music Dept. confirmed that the synth was still sitting offline in his office, and after a quick consultation with the school’s administration, it was decided to gift the synth back to its original creator! Ralph has been working on the synth for a few months now. Here’s a bit of Q&A about it, along with some pics and sound examples."

You'll find them on Pea Hicks' Roland MC-8 Micro-Composer blog here. Ralph Dyck is considered the godfather of the Roland MC-8. See the Ralph Dyck label below for previous posts.

The Moog 1125 Sample & Hold

Astronauta Pinguim has a post up on the Moog 1125 Sample & Hold. You'll find additional pics, some history on the module, and instructions on how to use it (captured in the bottom pic below).

"The 1125 Sample and Hold is a device that captures the voltage range of the synthesizer, creates a pattern and repeats it constantly. The waveform (sawtooth or random) of this pattern is controlled by a slider on the left side of the 1125 -the other two sliders are a glide and the scale controla. Two knobs in the center of the equipment, one for speed (rate) and other for the sample pattern are located above three on/off switches: one to record and the other two to start and stop the sample (a red light indicates when it is working).
Five switches on the right side complete the unit: one to control the extent of sampling, two on/off switches controls the outputs of the instrument, an on/off switch controls the trigger and another controls the size (short or long) of the gate."

7-9-12 ARP 2500/2600 improv by imperceivable shifts
"ARP 2500 and ARP 2600 improvisation
Nothing but analog synths.
i probably should have added some kind of compressor cause some of the sounds kinda jump out at you, but i wanted to keep it raw.. right??"

" weird 40 minute improv with arp 2500 and 2600 simultaneously...hope someone outthere likes it!"

Thaat #1

Thaat #1 by Ashen Actuaries of Asgard
Track featuring the Electro-Harmonix Ravish Sitar pedal with synth & keyboards only.

via Ashen Actuaries of Asgard: "On the structured 'melody' sections of the tune I'm playing a Minimoog Voyager through the Ravish Sitar. On the improv parts and outro, I'm playing a Hohner D6 through the Ravish Sitar. Interesting results.

You can also hear Mellotron Mk. VI, ARP2600, Fender Rhodes, Hammond XK3c and Nord Electro 3 on this one."

"Korg PS 3100 semimodular fully polyphonic synthesizer for sale. Some cosmetic wear, but not more than you would expect on an instrument of it's age. Technically everything is working expect that one of the 12 oscillators (C#) is sending out noise instead of a tone. Probably easy to fix for a tech, and I'm sure that every country has one. Here in Norway there's at least 2-3 good tech's, and judging from the size of my country, every other country should have more of them. The instrument is sold as is. I can ship worldwide, and buyer pays for shipping. The fee will differ from country to country, and allthough I've stated $500, that's just an indication since it's impossible to cover every alternative. Note that the instrument is 230 volt, so you probably will need a converter if you are to use it on 110 volt"

Critter & Guitari Pocket Piano

Note: Auction links are affiliate links for which the site may be compensated. via this auction

"The Pocket Piano is a mini electronic synthesizer with a big sound! The synthesizer features six unique modes:

• Vibrato Synth
• Harmonic Sweeper
• Two-Octave Arpeggiator
• Octave Cascade
• Mono FM Synth
• FM Arpeggiator

The Pocket Piano is housed in a sturdy aluminum and hardwood case and also includes a built-in speaker, a 1/4" output jack, and wooden keys made for a refined touch. It can be powered both by a 9V battery or a 9VDC Power Supply (not included).

When you change modes with the right-most wooden button, a color LED above that button indicates what mode is selected with a different color for each mode. The entire keyboard may be tuned over a 2 octave range by turning the knob second from right. Volume is controlled by the right-most knob. The function of the remaining two left knobs depend on what mode is selected, and are described below. There is also a button that selects waveform (sine, square, triangle, sawtooth) in the first four modes, and shifts the keyboard an octave higher in the last two modes."
