Typical JLR Patch Demo

YouTube Published on Sep 8, 2012 by JohnLRice

"Yup, a shaky camera in hand, camera sound basic patching demo. Every modular synthesist needs at least a few of these kind of videos, right? ;-)

The entire patch just uses Synthesis Technology MOTM modules (the core of my big 5U modular) and I often start out with this sort of patch. It's fairly simple and straight forward and can pretty much be done with most any reasonably capable synths like a MiniMoog etc (except for the individual PWM on each VCO I guess)

I had been thinking about doing a series of these basic patch demos for a long time, but done nicely instead. I recently got a new faster internet connection though and wanted something to upload to YouTube to see how much faster it would go so I threw this together quickly. ;-) It's looking like this one is going to take about 25 minutes and it is a fairly large file (over 400 MB since I rendered it at 1080p) In the past it would take 1 to 3 hours on average depending on file size.

Thanks for watching!"

The Klirrfaktor: Trogotronic Noise (Trogotronic model 676 & Teenage Engineering OP-1)

YouTube Published on Sep 7, 2012 by TheKlirrfaktor

"All sounds (including drums, percussions etc.) made with Trogotronic Model 676 Fury M Series and sampled, edited & arranged with Teenage Engineering OP-1.
Voice with Qneo Voice Synth on iPhone (thru Trogotronic 676)

Mixdown & some edits in Logic Pro.

I'm not shure about the sound because I'm not at home & had to mix the track on some cheep iPhone earbuds :(

Okay - I did this track just 4 fun, messing around with this sick module, thinking the guys from Togotronic still don't know what it's doing - I don't know that too :D

So let's go noise!

"This modified Yamaha PSS-140 has 8 switches that control the data lines from the main CPU chip to the YM2413 FM synth chip. Each data line has it's own led that reacts to the data flowing between these chips. When switches are ON the keyboard will play as normal. When you change the position of one or more switches to OFF, those particular data lines will be disconnected.

Works with 6 AA batteries.

Listen to the sample that shows what kind of sounds can be created with this data line bend:"
