Fukushima Blues - AKS Synthi

"I have been reading a lot about the ongoing Fukushima nuclear disaster, and felt the need to at least make a piece about it! All the sounds, with the exception of the piano, are from a mid-70s AKS Synthi that a dear friend has lent me. I dedicate it to Iori Mochizuki, writer of the vital blog Fukushima Diary."

"For sale is a rare Sequential Circuits Instruments Prophet VS vintage analog/digital synthesizer. This is one of my favorite synths of all time, the first synth that had Vector Synthesis. Every aspect is amazing, the arp/sequencer, filters, waveforms and especially the joystick. Perfect for ambient pads, effects, soundtrack composition, but also with analog acid basslines, leads and more. This synth is in excellent near mint shape and fully functional. This one has been restored by Wine Country recently (the original SCI guys), so you know it will be good to go for years to come. The only issue is the slider is loose and breaks off, but you can still use it fine since it fits into place (as shown in the picture)..."

"Around 1983-84 Sequential Circuits, in order to break into the Japanese market, shipped the Curtis SENTE (CEM 3394) chip and the firmware for the Sequential Six-Trak to an other Japanese manufacturer. It was their plan to have that that manufactuer design a synthesizer more targeted at the Japanese buyer. This Japanese company created an 8-voice bi-timbral version of the Six-Trak. They added a 5-octave, 61-note (C-C) keyboard to it and sold it in Japan, calling it the Pro-8. Sequential, liking what the Japanese manufacturer had done with their design and worrying that they might market their synth with one of their competitors (ie. Korg), asked for some design changes and a name change, and sold the Japanese-made synth as the Split-8..."

iPad template for Novation Super Bass Station

Published on Aug 27, 2013 tffshtt·3 videos

"This template can be downloaded for free from my website (no login or registration required): http://templates.demostudioberlin.com... [open on iPad with TB MIDI Stuff installed]

It is an ipad programmer/ template for the hardware Novation Super Bass Station analog bass synthesizer. In order to use it, you have to have TB MIDI stuff installed on your iPad. At under $5, it is reasonably priced, especially in comparison to Lemur, its closest competitor (like Lemur it can send NRPN and SYSEX MIDI messages so it is ideal for hardware synths). It works fine on my iPad 1 with a generic camera connection kit, going through the USB port on a remote sl master controller.

Note: this is the alpha version"

Lemur iPad template for Novation Super Bass Station

This is an ipad programmer/ template for the Novation Super Bass Station hardware analog bass synthesizer. In order to use it, you have to have Lemur installed on your iPad, which us around $50 in the app store. Is it worth the price if you are just controlling a super bass station? maybe. Though gimmicky, the physics engine unleashes an animal living inside the SBS that makes it really fun. If you are looking for straight up control, no gimmicks, take a look at my 'TB MIDI stuff' template for the SBS. It controls all the same parameters without physics, has some good features of its own and is $5. Lemur and this template work fine on my iPad 1 with a generic camera connection kit, going through the USB port on a remote sl master controller and into the SBS. Have fun!"
